I’m pretty sure the AFL can afford to buy the name of some amateur baseball team.

I mean, they are technically a professional sporting team playing at the country's highest level of baseball.

The crows just bought the Adelaide franchise for a grand total of $0, doesn't sound too professional to me. Besides, this is an alternate reality where I am killing off half the clubs in the AFL, I don't really get why I can't pretend a baseball team doesn't exist either.

It was more the 'some amateur baseball team' than having an issue with you stealing their identity.

Interested to hear your ideas on the use of 'Heat' when nearly every AFL/VFL team in history has had a plural nickname; just a modern approach?

Yeah, a more modern style name. I could have gone for the Suns, but I think 'Heat' packs a bit more of a punch.

I had a very similar folio (Adelaide Sharks, Freo Mariners, Sturt-Norwood, even my league logo was almost identical to yours lol) ready to post, but that'll have to wait now I suppose. Oh well.

5 expansion sides.. Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra so far. Assuming Tasmania will be one but you mentioned non-traditional football areas so maybe not.
Very interesting to see where the other two sides come from!

In the days of the VFL I'm pretty sure the only colours that jumper numbers came in were Black and White. That's why at the MCG store in 2015 my brother could only get white numbers on the back of his West Coast Eagles 2013 away jumper.

Largely this. You can imagine something like; they didn’t have time to source blue numbers so had to go with black.

Home this guernsey, away the kangaroo/half striped version but with Yellow and the blue/white home for a clash.

Yeah, I started with Carlton's blue and then progressively changed it to the point where it was visible.
