As far as I am concerned I think we signed the younger Warner far too early. This year he was shite. His average this season 7.2 disposals. Just not good enough. He didn't even get disposals the few matches he played on a wing. It's really funny, nobody wants Paton anywhere near the AFL team yet Corey gets a free walk because he is Chad's brother. It's bulldung. I don't think he has been good enough this season and if he plays at the same level next season we are going to rue the fact we signed him until 2027. I hope I'm wrong but he doesn't look like he's improving.

Only played the last two games on the pine as Sub. Not much to show last week. Our mids got flogged and Cox still wouldn't put him in there. The way a player plays is sometimes about being trusted. He's not trusted so he is not going to play as well as he can. Cox has not proved to me he is a good person manager. By the way, who are you to be so bloody pious, haven't you ever ****ed up? Never taken the car for a spin pissed as a maggot?

Not a melt. Just thought the Selection Committee were boring. I mean, Corey Warner is averaging 7.2 disposals. Not exactly setting the place on fire. Grundy is fine but safe. Bice is ok but safe. I would have liked him to get a little groovy for the last game.

Yep you could have dropped everyone after the last half last week. Especially every mid in that game, including the wings. Half the forwards too.
Hear you but I don't think he was gaining confidence. Don't think the line coach worked him into the setup properly and he looked a bit lost.
The team selection seems pretty meh. Warner and Bryce suited to the big ground but the opportunity to bloody a youngster not taken. I would love to have seen young Blake in that game. He has the talent required.

A straightforward best available selection with perhaps a bias to Corey for a Perth game. He should bring his best for his old mates.
As for giving games to young players for their confidence....that's just the wrong way around. Players need to convince the selectors. They need to make selectors confident to put them in the team.
Young players at Geelong (and Collingwood) are almost always expected to show they're at the level before they get to play. They don't get to play seniors just to gain confidence or experience. Geelong's "overnight success" players have to do a long hard apprenticeships before they can demand a spot. And sure, some players leave for opportunities at other teams, but if they're not prepared to do the hard yards for one team, they usually won't succeed at another. Swans used to demand the same hard work, otherwise we end up with a bunch of almost-useful subs

Every week like many i get excited for the upcoming game , but this one just feels so flat , hopefully the players don't feel like that

Yeah even when we were out of the finals race it was at least exciting to play teams like Brisbane and Geelong. Still felt like there was something to play for. This is just a nothing game really.
Can't believe the seasons over already.

Corey I am completely underwhelmed with at the best of times and his reserves form hasn't been crash hot. Bice I see the potential but needs a full pre season and again has been underwhelming in the reserves since being dropped.
Ladhams is very stiff would have preferred to drop McLean who was ok last week but his body of work this season has been ordinary.

Corey is a bit of an enigma.
Had nearly 40 disposals in the VFL last week, but every time he plays seniors he struggles to crack 10.
He has the speed and strength - I’m still hopeful we’ll see a good player emerge.
Probably not this week though - as I reckon he’ll be the sub.

Surprised at the Corey pain here, thought he's had a reasonable season and clearly established himself as a reasonable depth player. Had a very good run in the ressies in recent weeks too.

It's not really a mystery, if he was in at most bounces or given a prominent wing role, he'd get more than 10 touches.
Same for others who are played in different positions/roles where you don't or aren't really expected to get it a lot.
I know footy is a team game, but the most glory the Swans as a club are getting this season is Grundy being named All Australian. Him coming back in for the last round given he is fit to leave a lasting impression is the right call and the right thing by a guy who has busted his backside for the club this season. Recency bias is a thing, and if he sits out the last two it'd be detrimental to the VFL selectors.
Bice I think is a good inclusion and hopefully plays - big ground, plenty of room to run.
Corey as others have mentioned is probably purely go home and see family pick and will play as sub.
Ladhams hugely stiff, but sort of not unexpected. Be interesting if the sub gets removed and goes to a 5 man bench whether he just plays as the spare ruck next season as that 5th man.

I hope we don't lose Ladhams by dropping him after a solid performance last week, if Grundy gets injured next year we are stuffed, Green is nowhere near it. My mail is he has solid offers from others clubs
