"This is what comes after the cup". I think the new boys in town might finally be getting their message across;)

McGregor doing brilliantly in this. I was a bit over him as an actor but he is redeeming himself here.

yeah that was a goodun
that scene with the metal toothpick whatever, just foul, loved it;)
his bad teeth are like a character in themselves.

Season 3 is really starting to hit its straps now after a slow start.
Looks like the deaf hitman (cant remember his name) is back. Will be interesting to see how he affects the plot, if at all, considering Malvo spared his life at the end of season 1.
I've been waiting all season for a character crossover. Was he part of the Fargo company? I can't remember. I'm assuming that Varga is, so it'll be interesting to see if it was a cameo or if he'll be in the rest of the season.

If I remember correctly he was. But didn't Malvo kill almost everyone in the building, effectively killing the crime syndicate there? I remember the creators claiming while filming this season that something in season one affects the whole of season three so I'm thinking the deaf bloke being spared by Malvo fcuks a lot of shit up for Varga's gang and probably the Stusseys too. He will probably end up killing the Ukrainian (lol I'm bad with names!) trying to break into the bus before making his escape.

Talking about crossovers, Breaking Bad gets a lookin with both 'Ermantraub' & the undercover cop who entraps Badger showing up as a undercover killer! Would also seem fairly clear the new police chief is in with the organisation as he is actively obstructing Gloria's investigation at every step, probably the Saint Cloud chief or other officers there as well it would appear as how did the syringe killer exit so easily without police help as well as the video tampering.

Nikki getting busted climbing out the window also featured in the original movie, Yuri psyching out Donny similar to season 1 & Malvo. Also think I've seen Sy's breakdown with his wife somewhere before but can't place it. Great episode I thought.

& do we really need spoilers, makes reading this thread a PITA, enter at your own risk once an episode has aired works for me;)

I don't think the new chief is in on it as he was obstructing her long before the investigation had anything to do with Varga. He's just a no-nonsense type who's not interested in a complicated case when he feels there's a simpler explanation.

St. Cloud are maybe in on it, but I don't think Varga's organisation even need them when they have the hacker presence they do, plus the two goons.

Wouldn't have thought so, if you click on this thread afterthe episode airs you should expect to see stuff being discussed.

At first i thought the same re the new chief but now there is no logical reason for him to be behaving the way he is, other than he's misogynist or sees Gloria as an incompetent, blind freddy could see there's something going down.

& meant to add, whatever happens I think we'll see Gloria remain as Chief, if she survives it all that is;)

I loved Sy's rebuttal of Emmit's questioning. The 'turn millions into thousands? What's the math there?' line was so great.

If I remember correctly, Bob Odenkirk's chief in season 1 was as sceptical about the bigger picture as the one in the current season.

Dunno about bigger, but came from a different spectrum of arseh*le and one where he genuinely believed in Lester. Whigham just seems to be a statistics guy where he wants cases closed as quickly as possible.

I think the video 'glitch' was because of Gloria and her interference with the CCTV camera, not Police tampering.

Took me awhile to get into this season but hitting its straps in the 2nd half. Great seeing the deaf hitman from season 1 again.

Anyone have any idea whatsoever what the Hebrew Leland Palmer in the bowling alley scene was all about? Other than another Lebowski homage of course. Preferred Sam Elliot to be honest :D

I'm bad with character names but I reckon Varga will end up being the 'deceased' husband of that business woman (Ruby Goldfarb) that Sy(?) approached earlier on. They probably work in tandem: Varga and crew starts hostile takeover/partnership of a business and said woman allows business owner a way out by buying said business at a massively reduced price. There is so much going on I'm a bit surprised there is only one episode left.

Yeah good call. Definitely plausible.
