I still can't believe after everything that has been said and after 1 game for the Saints some still say he's 'soft'. I don't where the **** this myth came from but it was never true. The more knowledgeable supporter has by know figured out this though.

As for his left foot kicking. Yea, that confused the hell out of us as well. He would kick a shocker on his left when he could have just have easily used his natural right. It is bizarre. At least he can kick on both feet though! He just has to use the correct one at the correct time.

i take it back then, so why does he kick with his left so much?

No-one but Farren himself knows that. He was probably brought up, as a lot of kids are, to be able to kick both feet but he probably thinks his non-preferred foot is a little bit better than it actually is.

That was the knock on him at the dogs mentioned earlier. At times he'd go on his left and miss the target when he couldve used his right.

Congrats on a good win guys.

As a Farren Ray knocker throughout 08', I thought I'd be first to ring his praise on a good game tonight. Showed a lot of tenacity throughout the game, a trait which wasn't his greatest attribute at the doggies. Picked up a lot of possessions, ran hard and kicked to advantage on numerous occasions. Hopefully he continues to impress for the Sainters

One stat sums it all up

Set a career high for tackles on Sat night, with 6

Shows more aggression, defensive awareness and willingness to get the hard ball.

I know he copped flack @ the dogs, but all it takes is a game plan where he is given range to play his natural position, which he has now. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Terrific mark last night in the forward line - part of the "new breed" of Saints midfielders scoring goals for us.

And he's 22.

still kicks of both feet just as well

That's the problem...he doesn't. Yes he gets good distance with either foot but rarely hits a target with his left.

Courage never a problem at the dogs.....he simply made poor decisions and butchered the ball a lot. I liked him and was disappointed he never really kicked on considering he was such a high draft pick. Hope he goes well at the saints but falls into old habits when you play us.

The funny thing out of all this is that we got him for free. Could not believe Heyne dropped to 47! From footage i've seen of him, he's gonna be a beauty

Another good performance from Ray.

Makes so much difference when he's given free reign in his position. Something he rarely had at the Dogs.

Considering Gram isn't playing his best, it's good to have someone like Farren to pretty much replace him.
