Have seen quite a bit of aussie comedy throught the years and the best aussie comedian I ever saw was Ric Carter. He now plays cops on TV shows which, if you ever saw his show and its content, is pretty ironic.

Rude, Micalleff, Martin/Molloy, Birmingham, Glenn Robbins is passable

Other than Jane Turner, Gina Riley & Magda Szubanski, there are no funny Australian female comedians.

Painfully unfunny comedians - Austentayshus, Rachel Berger, anyone on skithouse. Also never found ethnic/wog based comedy even mildy amusing eg. Sorrenti, Gianopolous etc.

Early Flacco (before he teamed up with the Sandman) is some of the most hilarious stuff I ever seen/heard. Some of his early appearances on the Big Gig still have me in stitches 15 years later.

Growing up I used to love Australia You're Standing in it. Rod Quantock's commentries were also extremely funny.

And the Thunderbirds from the D Generation. Great stuff. The D Generation Team was so good in the eighties and early nineties. It's shame they, and the Panel, is so stale now.

1. Rodney Rude
2. Steady Eddie
3. Dave O Neil
4. Rove MC Manius
5. Dave Hughes
6 Glenn Robbins
7.All the guys on the panel
plus heap more I like comedian full Stop

since when did rove become a comedian, he says funny things occasionally but that doesnt make him a comedian, and certainly not the 4th best in australia.

i cant believe no one has mentioned the doug anthony allstars who were brilliant. glad someone mentioned flacco, there was always going to be one i forgot and it happened to be him. flacco pre-sandman and inconjunction with sandman, doesnt matter, either way he is damn funny.

specialy mention to yianni who i here is a funny bugger too;)

I like Anthony Morgan. And Tony Martin / Mick Molloy were good.

Funny chicks: I can't think of any. Gina Riley is funny, but she's a good writer. There's a few funny female writers, but not stand-ups or comediennes.

Would have thought the novelty of ******* / shaky jokes would have worn off by now.
i dont think it takes all that much to impress, or make vossmagic laugh. btw, is eddie still doing the rounds?? havent heard from him in a while...

Glenn Robbins for sure - that man is very talented.

Being a fan of Kath and Kim, can't go past Gina, Jane and Magda as the funniest females in the land.

The show also reminded me how amusing Peter Rowsthorn is.

Other than that, I don't think there is a lot to get excited about comedy wise in Australia......

isnt it funny how no female 'comedians" were listed?? :D
What about Tracy Bartrum, she's probably one of the best Aussie female comedians around at the moment.
