For me it's still Brown. Not looking forward to his retirement.

He has (literally) bled for the club through thick and thin, stuck around despite big offers from other clubs and provided no-nonsense leadership.

When he does go, I'll finally accept that the premiership team has been completely supplanted by the new and exciting younger brigade.

Black's retirement has opened up a spot as my favourite Lion. Mayes is the short priced favourite but I'm not willing to call it yet. Golby, Hanley, Lester and Zorko still in the hunt.

Robbo has all the hallmarks of a future favourite for me. Especially after his recent interview when he was asked what it was like to meet Jonathan Brown and instead of the usual "it was surreal" stuff he said Browny was just as he imagined him to be, a bloke's bloke.

Pearce Hanley is the most exciting player to watch in the AFl IMO. Love how he takes the game on.

Of the new draftees I've taken a real liking to big Jono Freeman. Seems like a real quality kid off the field and I think he has a pretty high ceiling.
