Harder than it seems. No order;

1. Docherty
2. Cripps
3. C. Curnow
4. Simpson
5. SPS

Apologies to Kreuz, Fish, Marchy, Ed and Picketty. Williamson and Kennedy not far off joining this list either.

Kreuzer: Been a favourite since he came to the club and have been rooting for him to come back from his injuries and that now he's finally hit his prime I couldn't be happier for him

SPS: Just excited by him, love how he pumps the Carlton crest every time after he kicks a goal. Seems like he loves the club and he's an intriguing character. The game against Essendon in the wet was the game I was sold because he just looked so composed and I haven't seen a player play that well in the wet since Jimmy Bartel

Docherty: We haven't had a player represent us in the All Australian since Judd; Gibbs never did it and Murphy never did it so for one of our younger players to come in and finally get a mention in the elite bracket means a lot to us as a club, he represents a sign that we are turning a corner. He's a Carlton man and he's shown through this injury after taking up a coaching role that he is very very involved in getting us back to where we need to be. He should be our next Captain and dare I say it once he retires....our next coach

Cripps: The importance of this man to our football club right now is immense and he is the exact example for us to build around. The game against Richmond this year round one was huge and I think it was somewhat of a breakout game that will be a platform for Crippa to build on to finally be mentioned in the elite bracket by people outside the club

Fisher: The one kid from our crop I am most excited about. Probably because we all expect Weiters, Charlie, Cripps, SPS, Dow to be guns but I always thought Fish would be a B grader at best...he has proved me wrong! Last year I watched Fisher's possession count and I said to my mate that if this kid could reach the 20 possession + bracket he will be so damaging because of his disposal (that left foot is a thing of beauty), the smarts, decision making and just the way he can move through traffic. He's broken the 20 possession barrier and throughout the JLT and the first two games he is hitting the scoreboard which is something we have lacked from our midfielders over the years. You want the ultimate clutch player at our club? Look no further than this kid!

It's so good that this list is hard to pick, a lot of emerging favourites and a lot less blokes I can't wait to see the back of.

Top 5

1. Jack - I love how much he loves Carlton. He was born to play for Carlton and even despite his deficiencies, if anyone can will himself through, I reckon Jack's the man to do it. He will find another level.

2. Crippa - No explanation needed.

3. Doc - Even with an ACL injury he's still more of a leader to the team than half of our 'leaders' in the past 2 decades. Consummate professional.

4. Charlie - I haven't been this excited about a kid on our list since God knows when. I'm almost too nervous to think about how good he could be *chants 'please don't jinx it'*

5. Samo - Was nervous as heck when I kept hearing we were going to pick up a kid from Halls Creek with pick 5...surely he'll want a trade to WA in no time....but alas the kid has been Carlton through and through since he got here. Adds flair and silk around the ground and will be an integral part of our midfield for the next decade.
