Firstly guys congrats on showing a gutsy display against us for 3 and a bit quarters, I really thought some of your lesser lights showed a lot of heart today. Not often you can hold your head up high after a 54 point loss.. but under these circumstances I'd say you guys could take a lot more away from the game than us.

Aaaaaaaaaanyways, just wanted to say that you guys really have found a player in Ferguson. Tough bastard that was in absolutely everything and wouldn't give an inch. I gotta say I was really impressed with both he and Bell (whom I always rated reasonably highly anyway)

Chin up and maybe once you can put your first 18 back out onto the park you'll be a crack at a victory again (you would've beaten us with your best list today)

Cheers. I must admit i absolutely hate the Crows (apart from Thommo who I still love) but they're going to make the GF minimum this year.

Fergie is one of the skinniest players in the league, but christ, his courage is ********ing incredible. Just the kind of defender we need. Getting him with pick 66 was a steal.

Bell will be a gun too. I just hope he doesn't want to return home one day.

We love you too ;)

Pick 66, that's feckin ridiculous - he's got more courage in his pinky finger than half the blokes do in the AFL.

If Bell ever does decide he's feeling homesick he knows where to come knocking

Fergy reminds me of Rivers quite a lot. Mainly because of the courage both have, neither are particularly worried about backing into packs and risking their skins to keep the ball out.

True, Fergy and Rivers could be FB and CHB if they just beefed up a bit over the pre-season. Both tough as nails and usually quite accountable

both fergo and rivers are showing signs of becoming good key defenders. as already mentioned they just need bulk to match their courage. I really hope atleast one of them can develop into a star backman which in my time, melbourne has never had.
Think of our key FB/HB's over the last decade, besides nietz before he went forward, no one has been any more than a good honest defender.
fingers crossed.

I realised yesterday that Ferguson is no push-over. He looks like a good boy, but in reality he is a fierce competitor.

He needs to be put on a Big Mac diet over the pre-season, or ask Beamer where he got his steroids from ;).

Still haven't seen the game, can anyone comment on Bell's disposal.

I have heard his decision making on Saturday was quite poor and he turned over the ball a bit. Is this a fair comment?

Any Fergie, may just be the answer to our prayers with another couple of preseasons in the gym.

He did turn it over a bit, however he beat each opponent and gave a real contest. Just needs to stay fit, and another good pre-season from him will help to cement him a spot.

I reckon in time Ferguson will actually end up a better player than Rivers. I don't know why, I just think he's a bit closer checking... but both will be quite handy.
