Australian forward and 2006 Coleman Medallist Brendan Fevola has been surprisingly left out of the opening Test match against Ireland at Pearce Stadium in Galway on Saturday night.
Fevola, who was a late inclusion into the Australian squad - although he impressed earlier in the week at training - has been named an emergency along with Fremantle midfielder Brett Peake, although the Docker could be a late minute inclusion depending on conditions.
Fremantle defender/midfielder David Mundy was ruled out on Thursday night with a calf problem, although the Australian hierarchy is hopeful he will play in the second Test at Croke Park in Dublin on Sunday November 5.
A total of 15 players will make their Australian debuts against the Irish - including soon to be retired Brisbane Lions superstar Michael Voss, who will finish his extraordinary career after the two-Test series.
Seven players - Aaron Davey, Nick Davis, Dustin Fletcher, Lindsay Gilbee, Barry Hall, Matthew Lappin and Ryan O'Keefe - have previously played for Australia, with only Hall (2003) not part of last year's winning team.
Australian coach Kevin Sheedy and AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou presented the team jumpers to the players on Friday night (local time).
First Test - Australian team:
Chance Bateman (Hawthorn), Campbell Brown (Hawthorn), Ryan Crowley (Fremantle)
Aaron Davey (Melbourne), Nick Davis (Sydney), Sam Fisher (St Kilda), Dustin Fletcher (Essendon), Lindsay Gilbee (Western Bulldogs), Brendon Goddard (St Kilda), Barry Hall (Sydney), Graham Johncock (Adelaide), Matthew Lappin (Carlton), James McDonald (Melbourne), Ryan O’Keefe (Sydney), Danyle Pearce (Port Adelaide), Andrew Raines (Richmond), Adam Schneider (Sydney), Adam Selwood (West Coast), Justin Sherman (Brisbane Lions), Kade Simpson (Carlton), Brent Stanton (Essendon) and Michael Voss (Brisbane Lions).
Emergencies:
Brendon Fevola (Carlton)
Brett Peake (Fremantle)
Injured:
David Mundy (Fremantle) - calf

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
That's bloody unlucky, especially considering they said he was very impressive in training.
Oh well, still good to see Skinny and Simmo in the team, hope they play well. Expect to see Fev feature in game 2.
