I think it's time we played Fevola at full forward for atleast 5 games in a row for the full match and see what he can do.Whitnall at CHF and Fevola at FF would be good to see. What do others think?

I agree that Fevola needs to be left at full forward for a while. However, we can't afford to leave him there if we aren't getting results. Such is the way of modern football, you can't afford to lose any match and have to throw the players around and mix up the team balance to make something happen.
If we need goals, then we may have to throw Sos or Kouta up forward. We should at least allow Fevola to play every week up forward somewhere.

Sorry it taken me so long to respond. Fevola is not big enough for full forward or centre half forward. At 188cm or 6'1" and 90kg he is more of a Brad Pearce forward. Quick lead, strong mark and capable of kicking them from 50m out. He's not tall enough for a key back line position so it's the flank or nowhere.

At Full Forward or Centre Half Forward against Fletcher 197cm Wellman 193 McCartney 192 Martyn 191 McIntosh 191 Jakovich 192 Ingerson 193 Richardson 196 Prestigiacomo 193 etc. he's giving away too much height and strength.

I think Merrington 192 and Hotton 193 are the options for Full Forward although I would prefer Hotton to put on some weight and take over at Centre Half Back. Prendergast 192 if he can stay fit is another chance for a key position in the back line with Vance earmarked long term as the third tall defender.

Fair comment Amazon but we need somebody now and you can't just throw these guys into a key position. Hotton maybe. History does suggest that the smaller marking forward can play at full forward successfully if they have strong hands, good pace and know how to lead. You can stack the flanks to assist them. For example, if the ball is bombed into the square and you had Allan or Porter resting in the pocket, then that's where the goals will come. Jason Dunstall for example wasn't the best goal square pack mark but he was brilliant at leading out and one on ones. Fevola could be in that mould. The Blues only 100 goals in a season player wasn't tall, just brilliant. Of course, I am talking about Jezza. Tall full forwards are not always the best.

The twin towers will fill the forward slot. Very hard to match up, esp. if Matty Allan spends time there. The challange is to keep the ball in the forward line and not allow the Bomber rebound which sets up their forwards. It's time D. Fletcher was thrashed and I see Allan, Kouta and Lance being just too varied. What we need is some consistant crumbing forwards - 5 kicks, 5 goals stuff - some of the young guns will have to step up there.

well hes obviously put on some muscle since then and is taller. its interesting to see that not many people thought he could ever take the full forward role. Look at him now

Great find.
What does this say about some of the other potentials. I have been pretty harsh on Waite of recent months, over-rated etc. However I have just been able to watch the first quater of the dockers game and he was costly with his kicking (it wqas apparantly very windy though), but despite this his shoulders were starting to look massive. He looks bigger than Fev but with pelnty of scope for more. This guy could turn into a beast and thats fantastic. Imagine if he bulks up to being the incredible hulk and we have kennedy likewise. Waite, as mentioned by DP may see some action down back from here on in though.
