you reckon it's because Pratt 'possibly' stipulated the 'behaviour' clause, and in context of what happened yesterday he's saying 'yeah right!' LOL!

He rejected a 3year deal worth 2million dollars. What more does he want?? He is not a Judd nor will he be!!! Its just his FU__ING manager playing hard ball that CO_HEAD..

Bloody hell Fev, one year, three years, four years, behaviour clause or no behaviour clause, just sign the f*cking contract! It's not supposed to be about the money, it's about the club! Now for god sakes, put the bloody pen to paper!!!

It is his last big contract of his career so he needs to earn mega dollars.

I reckon we should offer him 4 years and $2.8m.

I am sure he is upset with only a 3 year deal and as such wants more cash.

He is an absolute super star and every week we don't sign him the more his price goes up.

Imagine he kicks 8 tomorrow

He better not or I'll go down there an slap him upside the head.
Top player no doubts but he deserves to have a behaviour clause in there, he made his own bed he has to lie in it.

his manager knows that fev is probably worth more on the open market & with carlton on a high in recent weeks on the back of fevs outstanding output he just wants to get fev the best deal & you cant really blame him for that.
plus the fact that he will be on the vetrans list on his last year of the contract, with only half being included in carltons salary cap.
he probably feels that carlton will have to eventually come to the party.

but 700k ayear is good coin. he will sign just wants to get the maximum.

Exactly right, Fev has to live with the fact that he's not trusted by himself in the city, on the piss.

Another week and another Bulls*it media story about Fevola's contract. I just love how there is a different angle to the contract talks every trucking week, haven't they got anything else to write about? I really don't know why people worry about his contract, he isn't going anywhere else. It is just the typical crap that happens between management and clubs. I will start being concerned if he hasn't signed before the end of the season, until then lets worry about winning some more games starting tomorrow against Essendon.

I think this best sums the matter up. Typical 'argy-bargy' between club & player manager. Factor in Velocity Sports Management wanting to impress Fev, having recently added him to their stable, as well as the potential to sign-on other big names if they can be seen to get a better than expected deal (it won't be, but that is how it will look) & it is nothing that we didn't already know & expect.

The thing I love is how the news media think they are the judge, jury and executioner these days without actually taking anyone to court!

Don't you just love democracy! LOL!

Exactly. Would be just starting the process, I would have thought, given he's only signed on with his management a couple weeks ago. Not worried at all at the moment - you here the same thing every time a start comes out of contract, and 9 times out of 10 nothing comes of it.

  • DAYS after Richard Pratt stepped down, Carlton has received more bad news with Brendan Fevola rejecting the club's latest offer.
The superstar forward has knocked back a three-year deal believed to be worth $2 million.
It is understood another AFL club has been in contact with Fevola's management to discuss a potential trade should talks break down with the Blues.
It is also believed the Carlton offer included a $200,000 bonus if Fevola met certain behaviour criteria, but that clause was immediately rejected by his manager, Mark Kleiman, during negotiations.
Fevola refused to comment yesterday, saying only: "I'm leaving all the negotiations to my manager."
The star forward is in career-best form, having collected best-on-ground honours for his eight-goal performance against Collingwood last Sunday, as well as the man-of-the-match award in Victoria's clash with the Dream Team in May

If negotiations drag on, it may come at a hefty cost for the Blues if Fevola maintains his form.
A new deal would almost certainly mean Fevola was a Blue for life.
A three-year contract would also mean the final year of Fevola's new contract, 2011, would be played out on the veteran's list.

Carlton's secret weapon in negotiations may still be embattled former president Pratt, despite his problems during the week.

Pratt is expected to meet Fevola, the player's wife, Alex, and their management to investigate opportunities outside the club in an attempt to secure Fevola's signature.
Meanwhile, board member Richard Newton has emerged as the likely long-term replacement for Pratt.

Newton, who runs a family investment company, has impressed many around the club with his understated style and financial nous.
Vice-president Stephen Kernahan has stepped into the breach left by Pratt's departure and is set to remain until the end of the season.
It is understood NAB boss Ahmed Fahour will not be asked to join the board.
Pratt told Carlton on Friday he would stand aside after criminal charges were laid that relate to his evidence about the price-fixing scandal to an Australian Competition and Consumer Commission hearing.
Pratt's cardboard company Visy was fined $36 million in the Federal Court last year after admitting price-fixing with rival Amcor.
The charges were described by insiders as being "like a bolt from the blue".
Should Pratt beat the charges he will be urged to return to the club.
Stability is the key for the board, which is made up of Kernahan, Ralph Carr, Marcus Clarke, Zac Fried, Adrian Gleeson, Mark Harrison, Greg Lee, Paul Littmann, Stephen Moulton, Richard Newton, Ari Suss and Simon Wilson.
The board will meet again tomorrow.
