The players who we expect (excluding delisting/trading) will still be there and not be finished in 4/5 years time are:
Forward:
1. Tarrant
2. T.Cloke
3. Davidson
4. C.Cloke
5. Rusling (depends if he turns out to be key position or not)
6. Walker (more of a backman IMO)
7. B.Morrison (might be late bloomer still very young but has done less than nothing so far)

Midfield:
1. Licuria
2. Johnson
3. R.Shaw
4. Rowe
5. Holland
6. Didak?
7. Cole?
8. Davies
9. B. Shaw
10. H.Shaw
11. King
The likes of O'Bree, Lockyer and Chad Morrison should be too old by then IMO. Locyker and mOrrison might be youngish but they should be finished by injury.
While we have alot of youngish midfielders the depth isnt there. After the top 3 it drops off. We could honestly expect Rowe and Yakka to develop nicley but honestly we cant expect them to be superstars in 2/3 years time (although im a HUUUUUUUUGE fan of Yakka). B.Shaw needs to step up and is an unknown quantity H.Shaws midfield scope is unknown.
Didak is a real wild card could easily be an elite midfeidler but his midfield scope is also unkown along with Cole.

Key Backmen
1. Clement - Might be one of those players who lasts a long time
2. Presti - might be there but struggling along
3. Maxwell - I feel with just some bulking up will be a kpp
4. J.Cloke - most people would hope Walker has exceeded Jason by then but Jason honestly has the runs on the board ahead of Walker
5. Walker?? - Question mark on his capabilities as a defender arent being answered when he has to play as our only ruckman.
6. Hall?? - huge question marks on whether he can play down back
7. B.Morrison?? - see above
We may be suprised by a suprise move of C2/C3 down back or even Davidson. We lack hugely in this area.

Ruckmen
1. Fraser
2. Richards
3. C.Cloke
4. Fanning
5. Walker
6. Hall
This is in need of just one more competitive ruckman which could be achieved through the draft. Not as dire as it looks.

Flankers are not important IMO. We are looking at the future and what counts is the tall guys and the engine in the middle.

He would be an idiot? There is such a thing as loyalty remember. No chance of him moving if you ask me. collingwood have to learn to raise players from a young age instead of relying on trying to poach established players from other clubs.

Did you invite Chris Grant over there to enjoy the wines of Barossa Valley?

u have almost answered your problems by saying u nearly have a potent forward line with tarrent and rocca............now u wanna add fev another over rated chump
if u stop over rating your players u will see how deep your problems really are

One of only 5 or so true, consistant matchwinners in the comp.

LOL

J. Brown is NOT consistent. If he were:

He'd EASILY be on 3 AA jumpers by now
He'd have at least one or two dominating seasons like Tredrea and Hall has had
He'd have kicked past 50 goals in a season, something he hasn't done yet

Damn good player. But consistent? No way in hell.

omg......wtf ????
Tell me an opponent who has consistently had the better of Brown ?? I can't think of any !
Presti when fit...has both Hall & Tredrea covered ! He struggles with Brown because he has more tricks than the other 2 and moves better laterally !
You seem to forget that Brown has 2-3 years on the others and has made significant contributions in 3 flags.
Plus, the Lions game plan had relied on a guy called Lynch who kicked 70+ goals in consecutive seasons using Brown up the flanks.
Brown would've been AA plus met your 'criteria' of kicking 50 goals last year if not for 3 suspensions

Well I certainly remember that he wasn't dominant against us when we played them last year. I think Teague played on him? Anywho, if what you stated was the truth, surely you would have seen more games like we saw vs Essendon from him last year. It's not the matter of his opponemnts being consistent aganst him, it's the matter of Brown being consistent HIMSELF.

It still remains to be seen whether he can be consistent enough to dominate an entire season. He hasn't done that yet. Why? Because he's not consistent enough.

How is this relevant to his consistency? Presti isn't the barometer. Some players will typically match up well on certain players, others not so.

I've watched all three grand finals, and he didn't make a huge impact. He just did his job.

Plus, the Lions game plan had relied on a guy called Lynch who kicked 70+ goals in consecutive seasons using Brown up the flanks.

So what? They were obviously good enough to have their midfield deliever the ball on a platter to their forwards

Brown would've been AA plus met your 'criteria' of kicking 50 goals last year if not for 3 suspensions

Would've, should've, could've - didn't. Performance wise, he is not as consistent as Hall, Riewoldt and Tredrea. That's why they've all won AA jumpers and have dominated seasons - Brown has yet to do that. Not just a few games here and there.

Though I believe he will overtake Tredrea as the best CHF, and he will dominate seasons eventually. So far he hasn't, so I laugh when people say he's consistent - because he's not. His games from the past few years suggest that. But this year might be his year - hope so, good to watch him dominate.

Now, let's get back on topic re: Fevola. Pagan saved his career and made him a very good FF... now we need him more than ever to perform, and for the future. He has a tight bond with Pagan, so I don't see that he will betray this bond by leaving... Fev should realise that Pagan saved his sorry arse and I am confident he will. He owes a lot to him.

I think that this would be a bonus for collingwood if they could get Big Fev... I think that Fev will budge and move to collingwood.. Move towards the money ;)

i agree with bards...we could do with another quality forward..then they can start throwing some money at giansiracusa, mcveigh, medhurst etc

Oh dear.

F: Gavin Wanganeen (ESS), Brendon Lade, Toby Thurstans.
HF: Josh Mahoney (FOOTS/COLL/ESS), Warren Tredrea (Acting Captain), Peter Burgoyne.
C: Damien Hardwick (ESS), Josh Carr (VC), Byron Pickett (NORTH).
HB: Shaun Burgoyne, Chad Cornes, Brett Montgomery (FOOTS).
B: Michael Wilson, Darryl Wakelin (ST.KIL), Matthew Bishop (MELB).
Ruck: Dean Brogan, Kane Cornes, Roger James.
Interchange: Stuart Dew, Domenic Cassisi, Adam Kingsley(ESS), Jarrad Schoefield(WCE).

9 of your premiership team were recruited from other clubs. You captain Primus was from another AFL team and there are a further 3 on your list from other AFL clubs.

How about you take some of your own advice.

Fev would be great at Collingwood. Unlike Brown he could go to full forward and free up Tarrent to go further up the ground and llet Rocca hold down chf.

The only decent player Carltons got so send him down to Pie land.
