News Fev's Love Blues

Seen this happen more than once.

I've watched it from afar. It doesn't take the involvement of a third party to end a marriage/relationship. We can only hope that when the late nights/early mornings are happening, someone is keeping an eye out for Fev.

It's funny though Fev is the one that has to move out of the posh house, but I wonder who actually paid for it ???

Also why is it that everytime their marriage is on the rocks, one of Alex's friends and/or family members blabs the 'gossip' to the press, and makes Fev sound like 'Deadbad Dad and Husband ...

And now rumours at Talking Carlton are saying Fev is rumoured to have lost a great deal of dosh playing Poker ...

Well if that is the case, surely she should stand by her man even if he that is the case, this does make it sound even more that she is shallow and simply a money digger.

Way I see it, Fev is an brilliant but flawed human being who has stuffed up a few times, but he has worked so hard to make that marriage work, but she whiz, Alex struts her stuff like she's the Whore of Babylon ... And shame on her family and friends for always blabbing to media when they have problems, if there is one thing I hate in society, it is narks and people who love to blab about personal and private gossip to the media ..

Maybe this is a chance for Fev to prove that he has finally grown up and handle it like a man. Instead of going of the rails like he usually does.

I was actually building on what someone else said, that his on-field form suffers when his his home-life suffers.

I didn't say anything him screwing everything in sight, but it 'seems' that he may be not behaving himself, which I don't care what anyone says, affects our club.

In saying that, I'll never shy away from my feelings of this man. I am negative about Fev, I don't particularly like him and haven't for the last 9 or so years but he's wearing our jumper and I'd rather have him than him be anywhere else. I also want him to kick goals every week and yes I cheer for him when he does, I don't think that makes me fickle because my opinion doesn't change.

It's taken me 4 posts to bring myself to make a serious contribution to this thread but in quoting this post I am doing so to say that I almost echo your thoughts M-BIB, at least to a certain extent.
I have said before that I do think that Fev is an absolute knob jockey, but that's just personal opinion and we're allowed to express these thoughts, I don't make any apologies on that.
But just because I don't particularly like the guy does not mean I don't want him playing for us, particularly as we all know how valuable he is to our side and what a player he is on his day. When he plays well, so do we and when he doesn't, we struggle. The lack of depth we have had in our forward line is a cause for embarrassment and I'm still wondering where we're going to get major contributions from if he goes off the rails (and I have also said I feel our backline is starting to take shape and more than our forward line).
We don't know the guy outside of what we see on TV and in the papers, and as this article has shown, it's pure gossip and speculation, and we don't particularly know what's going on, so I'm not going to judge him on this behalf.
Having said that, we are supporters and some of us are members of this club, and we want and expect our players to perform, particularly a player on the big bucks as this guy is for 3 years (rather than the 4 he wanted or the 2 it was suggested we were going to offer him). It's on the field where we all want him to perform, and with what he's done in the past he has a duty to continue to do so for us, his teammates and the club.
As far as I'm concerned though, off-field issues are not going to be an excuse in my view if he does not perform, for reasons stated above.

It amazes me though how MBIB has a go at fans for dissing <edited> like Jordan Russell and Jason Saddington for years of incompetent service and shithouse games for the club, but she somehow think's it's okay of being critical of the club's best player of the past 10 years or so ..

And yes I bag dud players at games, I yell at the fence when they walk off after bad losses, but you know what, I'm also the loudest one and cheers the most during games as well, and besides I only bag/sledge the players that deserve and don't put in the hard work IE Jordy Russell etc.

You know what, I'd much prefer a player who is a prick off the field, but who is an absolute champion on it IE Wayne Carey in his prime, rather then nice guys off the field but absolute spuds on it, IE David Teague.

Back to Fevola - he'll just keep doing whatever he likes, and even throughout last year when he had some off-field issues, he kept fronting up each week to lead our forward line with great conviction.

Perhaps he's like Shane Warne - once he crosses the white line, he can clear his mind of his troubles, and just play footy.

Well I respect your opinions, however I feel that people seem to forget all of the good things Fevola does for the club and the community (like his charity work) and just dwell more on his off-field antics and marriage problems.

If you don't know the guy personally, I feel you shouldn't condemn him for what you read about him in the papers and on TV etc, admittedly I'd say the same thing about Wayne Carey and Shane Warne.

And I still BELIEVE players do not have an responsibility to the media and community in general for being 'decent law-abiding' citizens or role models ...

Most/All of the serial rapists and criminals and hardcore pricks in prison, no one really asks them what their job or occupation was now, was it ?

Fev has been my fave player at the blues for several years now, and perhaps I am biased, but I honestly feel he gets a raw deal at times, esp from some sections of the Blues fans.
