Carlton supporters can breathe easy after spearhead Brendan Fevola was let off a report for charging, making him free him to take on the Bulldogs in Saturday night's Wizard Home Loans Cup semi-final.
The AFL's Match Review Panel cleared Fevola of any wrong-doing on Monday, after reviewing his high hip and shoulder on Demon Brad Green during the third quarter of Sunday's quarter-final against Melbourne.
The panel, headed by Peter Schwab, found that Fevola's contact was high, but said it could not say categorically that it was careless. It judged that a free kick to Green was the suitable level of punishment for the contact, and said he should have been expecting some form of contact in the circumstances.
The Blues will also take particular interest in the case of Bulldog Rohan Smith, who must decide whether to accept a two-match suspension handed to him by the Match Review Panel for striking.
Smith's contact on Saint Troy Schwarze during the third quarter of Friday night's game in Launceston was deemed an intentional level three offence.
But given Smith has no applicable record, an early plea would reduce his penalty by 25-percent, making the suspension two matches.
And former Bulldogs skipper Chris Grant is free to take part in the match, after his contact with Saint Max Hudghton was deemed not reportable.
Hudghton was knocked out and taken from the field on a stretcher, but the Match Review Panel found the contact between the players was unavoidable and accidental.
