Hopefully it's not their 1 major update for the next 5 years, and they build on it. But you're right, step in the right direction at least.

Yeah I reckon I do one in about 50

I only do the pre-match ones sometimes.

Sometimes I lose my marbles and say "the referee is a campaigner" so I can see the cool news article after, but I don't bother with them. Let's be real, don't think news conferences would be that detailed for a team in the Vana South League anyway, so I skip them to make it a bit more realistic. Will probably skip them all in FIFA, and just concentrate on direct player contact to persuade morale

you can't even see the running stats of your players on loan yet right? unless they are in the same league as you iirc. i'd like to know how much they're being played during the season.

kids potential being higher if you start off with them well sounds good, as well as older players deteriorating slower if they're still playing well

minor annoying glitch: changing from one pre-saved formation to another in-game sometimes majorly switches players around e.g. wingers and fullbacks. would be nice to fix

improving the algorithm used by AI teams to determine their starting XI is interesting but i like it when, for example, i come up against another big side in the league cup but we're both using second strings. maybe now matches like that will be seen as more important despite a league game coming up a couple days later, we'll have to see.

^^ also relating to that, hopefully something can be fixed up regarding your best players messaging you alarmed at their "lack of play time" i.e. resting them for a league cup game. that algorithm clearly needs a little fix. sometimes they'll message you being concerned, but then you get the "thanks boss" message 5-7 days later when there hasn't even been a match in-between.

The new features they;re adding to Career Mode have me excited, got the Champions Edition pre-ordered so as a mainly career mode player I'm hyped up.

Jeez, I was going to pass on FIFA this year but the career mode updates look great. Will pick up at some stage, whenever it gets cheaper.

I'm buying purely for the street type mode. The career changes are just an added bonus for me.

Have seen a few people in FIFA Facebook groups with access to the closed beta. Reckon the gameplay hasn't really changed all too much, nothing noticable. Might be early days or EA have just chosen the wrong people to beta test

I expect it to play mainly the same, players will heavy/sluggish, and you won't be able to have the room you do on PES to run at players/create space.

But, we will wait and see.

I am most likely going to get both anyway and just rotate.

If they're making changes - albeit small ones - in the right direction, it's a start.

The fact potential is not set now is good, and morale will affect things (how much remains to be seen), so we will see how it goes.

Not a day one purchase in my eyes... Have to admit PES looks really good and solid.

Don't feel being able to give my manager a new jacket and answer dumb questions before and after a match in career mode allows me to empty the bank account.

PES looks good, and I love PES, but that has its flaws too. It plays beautifully however.

Can't wait for FIFA 20, already got my preorder gonna be great. Especially career mode which looks awesome, all I need is some cosmetic changes to stoke my fires.
