Whats everyones thoughts on this? I guess its a balancing act between points lost through not trading against points lost through injured/suspended players.

For some of you who are ranked high, it must be on your mind to cash in in a matured cashcow and upgrade to possibly make a run at the big prize or top 100 or 1000 or whatever your goal may be.

Were I to hazard a guess, I would say that most high-ranked players, at this stage of the season would have roughly.

20 guns on the field.
1 mid-sized player (like a simmonds)
1 rookie who's stepped up, a Palmer, Ibbotson, maybe even a Myers/rioli...
(posibly 2 mid-sized)

They would have roughly 4-5 trades and be saving them for a rainy day.
(ie. Cornes, Cox like shelvings)

At this stage of the season, with a team as above, you would only need to score a single (alright, maybe 2), otherwise avoidable Zero, in order to negate the benefit of cashing in a cow to upgrade another...

It's quite a dilemma. Ibbo is the only player I have who I'd bother upgrading but with Cornes, Cox and only 3 trades left I won't bother. My real problem is whether to trade Chad now while he still has value. It's even dicier now that Myers has gone down, tho there's talk that SDT might get a game which would be nice.

I've got 6 trades. Ibbotson still to upgrade if someone suitable comes up, Simmonds and Thomas as the mid-sized. Cox is the only injury worry atm.

My midfield is solid without being spectacular, but I just have the feeling it should be upgraded. (Ablett Jnr, Harvey, Stevens, Priddis, Kornes, Murphy)

Got three cash cows worth cashing in too, J.Morton, Cotchin and Browne.

Looking at my team, trades can wait a few weeks, no major worries (apart from Edwards covering P.Burgoyne atm)

Well i have 5 trades left and my team is set. Lowest averagin player is Birchall with about 84 and then Stevie J with 85 and everyone else is just about averaging over 90. May use one trade either enxt week or the week after to pick up Franklin for SJ because the 2 things my team lacks is Ablett and Franklin. I think these kind of deciiosn come down to wheather you are playing for overall or league. Trade away now and pay the price in the finals or hold onto your trades and lose ground overall.
