Good stuff. :thumbsu:

The other whiter jumper should be utilised a little more often and you've got everyone off your back for good.

No offence dude, but while ever our name is Collingwood, people will find a reason to whinge about us.

I don't mind the jumper. Still upholds our black and white stripes.

How will Collingwood wearing a clash strip effect Norths revenues ? As a clash strip it looks pretty good; still black and white stripes (which should please the Collingwood faithfull) but different to other striped jerseys that are in use. I still can't see why Collingwood couldn't have worn its "training jumper"( the white one with the big magpie badge on the front) as a clash strip; but this is better than the one they currently have.

CORRECTION, NORTH dont make any revenue

I like it too.

Thankfully, we're no longer obliged to give this pathetic club a home game.

I hope the AFL gets the hint and no longer schedules North home games against us.

Me too. Screw them. Everyone seems so happy they can finally wear their home jumper against us, which is their right. But there are only so many teams we can have a home game with, surely it does not have to be Nth.

I think it's an acceptable compromise. It still has the black & white stripes, without any other irrelevant hoops, sashes, designs, etc.

Re: The Clash

Pretty sure I could tell the different between the Roos and the Pies back when we used to watch it on B&W TV...and I was 8 back then.

Rock the Casbah....
But... The Sharif don't like it!

Anyways - Jimmy Jazz just drove up in this Brand New Cadillac, and he told me I could hitch a ride to Hitsville UK. Should I Stay or Should I Go?

If I stay, I'll probably just get Lost in the Supermarket again, but if I go, then I could see myself going on a White Riot with The Magnificent Seven. It'll go off like Spanish Bombs, The Guns of Brixton and a Tommy Gun all at once.

Oh, excuse me - I've got London Calling and I'm So Bored with the USA, so I've gotta take it.

I used to watch matches on a Black and white 2" LCD portable tele while the missus was playing outdoor netball in the 80's and had no problem telling who was who. The brain is fantastically adaptive.
The logical solution would be to have a mandatory "death penalty" for anyone who mentions "clash jumpers". The problem would not exist.
It's the same principal as selling a perfectly good car and buying a new one with cup holders. It just gives you the ability to die while drinking coke.;)

I don't get it either, unless you are suggesting that Collingwood supporters will boycott this game - not likely, in fact it will almost certainly generate more publicity and a bigger crowd.

Hmm.

It's their "Home" game, if it was ours we wouldn't be wearing the strip. They're whinging so much they're going to lose our favour (potentially their home game against us) and therefore quite a bit of revenue.

Essentially, unlike some games now (e.g. ANZAC iirc), not all gate revenue is split between competing teams, that's why he mentioned it.

To be fair, I think it's not just a supporter issue either. We have seen in the past (whether this would affect Collingwood/North is another story) teams that have been mistaken on the field about teammates. You can argue that's their fault etc, but realistically there shouldn't be too much room for error in that regard. So there is that aspect to consider.

.

Collingwood Football Club doesn't get to write the draw. If we throw a hissy fit and say that we don't want to play an away game against North because of our jumper, the AFL will justifiably laugh in our faces.

Collingwood Football Club doesn't get to write the draw.

In the case of North Melbourne, we did just that.

Collingwood and North Melbourne had a long-term agreement which meant the Roos were given an annual home game against the Pies but wore their away jumper.

No more guaranteed home game against Collingwood now, it will alternate each year because they won't fixture us to play North twice in a year.
