One of the great reads. Does DeBolfo write all the Blueseum bios? If so he does a magical job. A REALLY great read it brought back memories and incidents I'd long forgotten. What a player. Diesel - a deadset ringer for Senator John Faulkner too I reckon.

Tony is one of the Blueseum's many contributors, particularly at the start when few people knew about it, but these days his role is mainly with the Club and on the Lygon St Committee. You will see his historical articles on carltonfc.com.au and he has kindly allowed the Blueseum to use them at the same time as a permanent marker of his work.

Most of the Blueseum biographies are an amalgam of many people's work, however, the Diesel biography was rewritten late last year by one of our better and more prolific writers, known on the site as 'Patzfitrick'. 'Pat' also wrote the Harris biography and is clearly one of the more talented writers that we have at the Blueseum.

From the Blueseum

ps Faulkner? Are you kidding or what?
pps As far as likenesses are concerned, does this look like a currently-listed player at another Club or not?

Does anyone remember the huge media circus surrounding a player transfer around the mid eighties? I cannot for the life of me remember the players name, but I do recall a media frenzy when he was flown to his first game by helicopter! I think he was a cats player.

Brian Peake, a bearded saviour from the West who never realized his big reputation like a few others who came from interstate and flopped (yeah, I'm looking at you Cornes you smart-arse).

Boiled lolly to whoever can name the third Brownlow Medallist from another Club who came to Carlton.

And no....he didn't win a Brownlow at Carlton.

Without checking I'll have a crack at Peter Bedford. I'm almost positive he played for us for about 5 minutes after a brilliant career at the Swannies.

Played with us in 1977, the same year as Peter McKenna (& I think we had Renato Serafini on the list as well). A pretty handy cricketer in his day, Bedford. I remember him guiding the Vics to a nail-biting win against NSW in a Sheffield Shield match at the MCG in the early '70s.

Renowned for his fairness too I remember. So when did Bugsy Barrot drop by? My dad's most loved/hated player along with Sheeds and a bloke he used to call Bucktooth - Roycey Hart. Of course I could check the Blueseum (fast becoming a favourite of mine) but that would spoil it a bit on here.

He joined us in 1971 after originally being traded to St Kilda for Ian Stewart. This was the first of many ridiculous trades & player clearances by the Saints, which was to contribute to their descent down the ladder & lengthy period spent at or near the bottom, from the mid '70s, well into the '80s.
