Thanks everyone. I especially miss the last Thanksgvings I had at home. For a few years prior to 2015 mum and I spent Thanksgiving at my brother-in-law's brother and his wife's home. They were always welcoming. In 2015, mum's last Thanksgiving, she wasn't well enough to go, so I cooked a whole turkey dinner for the two of us. Mum couldn't swallow food unless it had been blended to a thick liquid, so she had everything in a baby food style. Thank God for my Magic Bullet.
In the early 00s I made a couple of turkey dinners when my dad was still alive. We went to my sister's place a few times. I used to make Czech kolache for Thankgsgiving desert from my great grandmother's recipe since i don't like pumpkin pie. I'd make twelve dozen for family and friends.
It's nice to have a special day to be thankful for all that we have. Even in the midst of the crap that has happened this year I think back and am grateful that I'm still here.

JHC Here I was enjoying my Thanksgiving dinner and finishing my ice cream while watching what I thought was the final triple episodes of Home and Away for the season when it ends and there is a preview of Monday's episodes. The final triple episodes are on Monday. At least that **** and her detective husband who put Colby away have left the series. Now I'm hoping that maybe Bella tries to help Colby escape from prison and is killed in the attempt. That would be one episode I'd love to see.
I'm stuffed. Turkey roast was OK, but as usual not much flavour in Australian turkeys. I bought the wrong stuffing mix so had to play it by ear in making it. Cranberry sauce was from the UK. The last one I bought must have been from Belgium. The sweet potatoes were delicious, as usual. Roast sweet potatoes in foil after piercing them. When done take out of oven and split each in half. Add butter and brown sugar and pop back into oven for ten minutes or so until brown sugar and butter have melted. Mmmm... my favourites.
I'm going to call my brother tomorrow. He is following the governor's orders and only my brother, his wife and their youngest daughter are having dinner together. Looks like his house sale will be finalised next week and they'll be moving to a Phoenix suburb in a few weeks. Now I have no reason whatsoever to ever go back to Illinois even if I could.
