I'm scared. This is the fourth day in a row that I've felt well. Still have the old knee pain, but in general, I'm feeling OK. I might get a pizza to celebrate or Oporto's. They have a buy one get one free offer on two of their rolls. I've never had anything from them before. I miss Menulog already. At least I can still get free delivery and some deals on Doordash.

But I can get the pizza on the same deal any time. The Oporto offer is limited. I love a bargain!

I've decided to order food tomorrow. I have some beef stew with potatoes that I didn't eat on Thursday because of my Thanksgiving meal. It's not too bad if you put some ketchup on it.

And DO NOT complain about the rain. I just checked and it appears that Chicago is expecting 12cm of snow on Saturday. It gives me the shivers thinking about the 17 winters I had to shovel snow. I have pics of the big snow of Feb 1st 2011 on my laptop. I posted them on the Bulldogs board back then. It was probably about 35C in Melbourne on the day I posted them.

I was reading CNN online and noticed the name of the Hong Kong complex where that huge fire occurred: Wang F.uk Court.(No full stop after the F.) How unfortunate.

I can't believe they used bamboo as scaffolding. And apparently the smoke alarms weren't working. The poor people didn't have a chance ☹️.

we have enough thanksgiving leftovers for a week.

had a turkey, a chicken, stuffing, whipped potato salad, sweet and spicy pickles, 2 corn breads and an apple pie

thanksgiving food almost makes up for all the bad things about the US

Private wedding with a billion photos published.

Her dress is ghastly.
Nah the "privacy" thing was for security purposes. There are some nut jobs out there! After a certain time the media was allowed to report on it.

I'm sick so I've stayed in bed pretty much all weekend. As soon as I get back from camp, I'm ****ing sick
I found the camps exhausting, but mostly fun. Best was the Year 7 camps at Point Leo which we had at the start of the school year. I loved looking through the rock pools, something i had never experienced before. Worst were the Year 8 camps near Kinglake in September. Freezing cold and wet during our overnight hike. My last school had a camp at Lake Eppalock for Year 9. Hiking wasn't bad. Spent most of my time putt-putting around the lake in the school dinghy.

This was a completely new site this time around. Will definitely do things a lot differently if/when I go again next year. ie. Take more stuff, more warm clothes in particular, take a book and some cards or a board game. Phone signal was ok in the dining hall (while zero signal in the cabins), but still by day 2 was over I was sick of being on the ****ing phone.

I can't believe the camp didn't have any board games tbh.

Also will take better hayfever meds. My hayfever was ****ing awful up there

"Overnight hike"?!?!? :eekv1:

Screw that. I didn't even do the bushwalk which was an hour and a half :tearsofjoy:

That sucks. Hope you feel better.

My left eyelid is swollen and it's so uncomfortable. I've been putting a hot compress on it.

The most disappointing thing about school camps these days are no more horse riding. Camps never have any horses, suppose it's just too risky and the insurance costs would be sky high if they did.
We had to change our Year 8 venue in 1983 because bushfires had destroyed the area in Feb. Our entire camp for the week had to be in tents near Buxton. The positive was that I could go on a bike ride or horseback riding as an activity to supervise. I had never ridden a horse so I had to do it. I asked the owners to give me a slow horse so I wouldn't fall off and make an ass of myself in front of the boys. It was really fun. One great memory was of a rather large hairy nosed wombat walking through the camp-site. It wasn't flustered at all by us being there.

Grade 5 camp we stayed at the Grampians. It was great because there were separate cabins. The teachers had to go from cabin to cabin to check up on us.

I remember going horse riding. It was my first time and I'll admit it was scary going down a hill!

Year 6 camp was Beechworth and Year 7 I can't remember where we went but we stopped at Hanging Rock and climbed it. That was really hard!

Yep my grade 5 camp was the first time I went horse riding (not counting pony rides), on a trail. My horse was called Patches, he was very sweet.

5 day camps those as well. Both Grade 5 and 6.

High school camps were only two nights
