There are plenty of ball magnets that can't kick well over 40m and handball and team rules can be taught to a player. Once he's on a list he won't have to get 38 touches a game he'll just be striving for 25 good ones.

If someone from the club said to me that we were on the look out for a Priddis , Barlow type because Tuck has retired and Cotchin can't be flogged into the ground for another year then I would say that I can see the sense in that line of thought.

But have a look at Barlow and Priddis' endurance, it's very good. Crouch's endurance is average to slightly below average. And what's more, I think that there will be a number of players who can play inside roles just as well as Crouch, but don't have his athletic or gameplay issues. I think Dunstan is a chance to fall to 12, and he has attributes which teams will hope Crouch develops.

I think Dunstan will be definately available at 12 but the Tiges are looking for a clearance specialist , contested ball beast . That's just what I think.

And Dunstan is a clearance specialist, and a contested ball beast. Did you see him at the champs?
I watched his full games last year ( only on TV ) and thoughts him and Billings were exceptional and would go top 10 this year, I've only watched this years high lights. He's a very good player and ready to go. One thing I will say is I'm confident we'll draft a Victorian kid this year as after Concas offers from WC and Freo the club will go with local talent until all this player movement is sorted out by the AFL.

I wouldn't be so certain of that because if there is a player that we believe has greater ability than the victoria player available at our pick we will pick him over the victorian kid. Although i do agree if there are two kids that we rate the same and one is victorian and one isn't then we take the victorian kid over the interstate kid. Although that is not because of conca's offers as he was never going to leave, he loves the club and isn't the type of kid that get homesick.

Yep, wouldn't be disappointed with Dunstan

My preferences fluctuate day to day... Such a weird draft

But this is how they are currently:

Salem
Acres
Scharenberg
Dunstan
Lennon
Freeman

And despite Freeman being my 6th preference, I actually wouldn't be disappointed with him either

salem would want to be a star if you pick him ahead of Acres , berger , Dunstan , a few people are saying salem dont like hearing foot steps if so that's a pass from me , correct me if that info is wrong thanks.

I think it will pan out like this:

1. GWS - Boyd
2. GWS - Kelly
3. St Kilda - Billings
4. WB - Aish
5. Gold Coast - Scharenberg
6. Collingwood - Bontempelli
7. Brisbane - Kolodjashnij
8. North - Luke McDonald
9. Melbourne - Freeman
10. Collingwood - Lennon
11. West Coast - Sheed
12. Richmond - Salem/Acres
13. Carlton - Salem/Acres

I'd be more than happy with either Salem or Acres. No matter how you look at it, we will have at least one decent prospect available to us at 12, so its no sweat.

I agree - I wouldn't mind who was left over for our selection out of Acres/Salem either.

Nah, just what I'm thinking - the only way to get inside information re: the draft is typically from the kids themselves (such as when they tell you "team x has interviewed me 4 times in the past 2 weeks" etc).

Anybody who tells you "Recruiter Z told me we are going to be picking up Player X at Pick Y" is just lying. The draft is like a big poker game - and as such, recruiters (such as FJ and Clarkey) keep their cards VERY close to their chests.

The only bit of info that I have sort of "heard" is that Melbourne are keen on Freeman, but then again I wouldn't call that a lock - given how quickly things can change on draft day (or the days leading up to draft day).

.... oh and that North will be taking McDonald at Pick #8 .... pretty good source ;)

The only real point of interest for me at 12 is if FJ happens to pull a surprise and get a guy not generally rated in the top 12 or so players. A surprise would be unlikely at the first pick though - more of a chance at our last two selections.
