Can you remember your first Fitzroy game?
I was eight years old in 1975 when my father took me to see Fitzroy play St Kilda at VFL Park. My Dad was a Carlton supporter, but he liked going to Waverley because it was easy to get to. The Saints won that day by about 13 points, but I fell in love with the Roys and followed them forever more.

ahhhhhh the memories!!!!!! I can remember as a very young boy perhaps 4 maybe 5, the old man showing me a poster or newspaper page with all the vfl jumpers on it and asking me which jumper I liked. It was the hallowed FITZROY LIONS jumper. The next day there the old fella gave me my first guernsey. Royal blue, rich maroon and the white ffc. That was the beginning. My first game was at moorabin against the saints, as dad was a st kilda supporter.(alas not for long, for he too fell in love with the lions) That would probably been around 1973/4. There began the journey for me.

1973 last game was most vivid for me. check your records, however we seemed to always play geelong in the last game of the home and aways..

of course into the change rooms after the game and pushed by my father to ask for autographs.

i still have teh record, laurie richards, john murphy and of course a nude kevin murray having just exited the showers.

no benny gales there saying "stuff the supporters"

what a family club, the club we love so dear..

My first game was in 1986, when my dad (an Essendon Supporter) took me to see Fitzroy and Essendon at Victoria Park.

Fitzroy won and although my dad tried hard to convert me to Essendon, I have been a lions man ever since.
