Good last effort by Bentleigh, if some of those early shots on goal were more accurate, we may have got a real shock!
That forward had a good mark on him (#1). Reds were smart enough to force many of his shots to come from the right-footers pocket. Which saved us about 3 goals.
The same bloke did well when up the ground in the last qtr. #11 was pretty damaging, too.
Scrappy match, neither club had been used to that sort of pressure from the other, I presume. Conditions also looked slippery out there.
Commiserations to your team, that sure put a dent in our percentage!
SS11. You're not a bad side, good enough for runners-up probably but learn to kick straight. Forget training Tuesday night and line up for set shots for half-an-hour. You're kicking at goal cost you any chance of a win.
LOL i thought i played a good game, but if u didnt see me, well then i guess i was wrong....LOL
yeah our kicking let us down badly, i would argue that we had the ball in our forward line 60% of the day, and got caught out on the breaks. That #3 Wharfie guy is a bloody good player, pretty quick too.
I think if we hadda kicked straight we mighta been in with a real chance, but hey thats football. And im pretty sure you guys saw the two grand finalists for this year.
Honestly mate we looked for yer, but I suppose we spent most of our time watching our own blokes.
Yeah Wharfie's certainly not short in 'slickness'.
We stood near the stand in the first half, then at a pocket on the hill for the 3rd quarter, and just to one side of the goals at the other end for the last. I had a camera and FitzroyRamone had a clipboard, the two of us had Fitzroy scarves, and Slax was with us, also.
