If we pull a Port, any finals chances will be destroyed in final two rounds. WCE in WA and Norf at Etihad is a tough finish.

As good as a draw that we can expect. If we were a mid table team it'd actually look a lot easier.

Our Melbourne home games are fairly disappointing - West Coast (Sunday), Gold Coast (Sunday), Sydney (Sat night), Bulldogs (Sat night), North (Sunday), Geelong (Sat), Brisbane (Etihad) and GWS (Sunday). Collingwood on QB is the only really blockbuster. Would hope for those that have bought home game only memberships that the compensation games for the two NT matches are really good.

don't think we deserve one. I always want to see a good game on Friday night to kick off the weekend and given what the dees have produced of late, nobody would get excited about watching. must improve to earn a Friday night game.

Hard to get blockbuster games when you're getting flogged each week.
Overall it's about as good as we could've hoped for. No Geelong in Geelong is nice and a few Saturday nights is good, especially for non-Vic fans as they're more likely to be on FTA in NSW.

I haven't a match against Geelong since 08. Granted we would of lost against Geelong regardless where its played. But it's ridiculous that year after year at Geelong. How about 1 year away 1 home. As for games on Sunday as annoying they are, we cop them because we are poor. When the team gets good again we better get more Saturday and Friday night matches. #shakes fist#

Good chance in round 1 this year. I know that we've been favourites in the last 2 years. But unlike port who surprised not only Melbourne but proved to surprise everybody this year. I can't see St Kilda being much chop next year. Having said that we probably won't be favourites next year. Also it's at ethihad.

It's a pretty good draw from a football standpoint. Commercially not so good but I don't mind, given my Saturday arvos are taken up next year. Saturday night game against Sydney could be a little bit of fun.

I would have to say the match against port was more devastating. For a few reasons mainly being the here we go again with another horror season. I think the Brisbane game we were competitive for a half and you could argue the players were emotionally drained with the passing of Jim. Also the fact we didn't realise that we were heading for a horror season. A win early next year will be great but who knows new coach, some new recruits It might take a while to gel. Round 1 you can never tell.
