Im only speaking from a Virgin Blue point of view but currently all flights on Friday the 29th of September are fully booked out all day, there are some seats available on flights on Saturday the 30th of September and all flights going back to Adelaide from Melbourne on Sunday the 1st of October are fully booked out, have heard Virgin Blue should Adelaide win will put on extra flights on all of those days subject to aircraft availablity or they may use the bigger 737-800 which has more seats and get extra seats that way.

it'll be luck of the draw! should have booked months ago, then if you decide not to go over, you only lose the booking fee not the whole fare! and then you have a seat if you want it. just a note for the future!
the train will have room!!

Yeah this sucks.

Given that the only available Sydney->Melbourne Saturday morning flights are the pricey "fully flexible" deals, I decided to fork out the money now. At least if things don't go to plan I can refund it for "store credit".

I booked a flight back the other day for Monday 740am, if we lose, will just change it to a flight to Sydney in November for the 38.50 fee, no biggy. Will take the train over if I can get a seat (unless extra seats on a plane are UBER cheap), which shouldn't be too much of an issue, you would think they would add a carriage or two
