hi guys just came back from the big game at ammi stadium.

may i just say to the crow fans in the members stands you are disgraceful.
you think collingwood are ferals you guys need a good look in mirror.

Just thought I'd bring this to light. It was posted on the Adelaide board.

Please consider what you say, particularly choice of words, when describing fans. Yes I'm sure there are some 'feral' Crows fans out there, just as there would be at every Club. But to term them as disgraceful is too harsh.

You should try barracking for the Pies. We cop this every single day, but the simple fact of the matter is there are clubs supporters out there that are alot worse than Pies supporters... alot of them.

P.S:- This is the magpies board - not the main board, we should be able to discuss this sort of stuff without interuption... on your way!

Yes I would agree there are worse out there than Collingwood supporters, in fact you're generally a good bunch from what I have experienced.


P.S. Sorry, I didn't realise this was a Collingwood fans ONLY board.
 
I thought that they were pretty good.

We were sitting behind the goals northern end and after the game plenty of them shook hands with the Pies supporters in their vicinity. They seemed quite facinated with Joffa's victory circle however, I got some footage on the phone which I'll have to upload.

And to reply to the general thread, do you think it's a great idea to generalise a whole bunch of supporters from a small sample you encounter?

In my experience not all Collingwood supporters are like Joffa, yet many choose to think that he is emblematic of what Collingwood represents.

Hope you smash St. Kilda next week.

I wouldn't classify all their fans by a small group you had the misfortune to run afoul of. Twice in 2007 I got abused, taunted and threatened by drunken Geelong supporters, and I will never forget the vicious disgusting behaviour of a group of Hawthorn supporters on May 3 this year, but I also must remember that they are not reflective of all their supporters.

Nothing annoys me more than hearing Collingwood supporters called feral because of the actions of a select few. I think we must be careful not to do the same.

being a AAMI member and a regular too crows games with all my crow mates, i look forward to donning the pies scarf and being looked at totally different to the week before when i was neutral ;)

The crows crew were pretty good. Always a few ********s but overall they were fine. We had a bunch of young guys (under 30) standing next to me and my 2 Adelaide pie mates who were the coolest supporters I've ever seen. Took it all in their stride, were chilled, made level headed observations and chatted and joked with us throughout.

The one thing i noticed even more than usual thbough was how bloody quiet the crows fans were when things were going badly. Bloody loud when they kicked a few but shockingly quiet when the tide turned. One guy got up to try and start a chant and it was truly embarrassing the lack of support he got. This was while the game was still not over too.

Got some pics from after the game i'll post in a thread.
 
All the ones I met before the game were really nice & friendly. A few of them gave us a spray as the left the ground. A couple of them out at the pubs on Saturday night were outright nasy & abusive.

Everyone's different, you can't just make blanket statements about what people are like.

Most of the crow fans on BF seem to but quite good.

Try going to a game at the Gabba. They know SFA about the game.

I don't mind other supporter posting here. A different view is always welcomed.

BTW I was at the Port V Coll game a few weeks ago and went 2 years ago when we won by 4pts in 2006. My god, they (Port) are a bunch of sooks. According to one supporter every time a port player got touched it was a free kick. By her account I counted 27 free's by 1/2 time.
It's alway great beating the adealide sides in Adelaide. A final makes it a bonus.
 
I've been to a fair few Adelaide games at AAMI in my time, they are generally pretty good, i've only ever seen one that I would class in the Hawthorn/Geelong area of ferals (seriously, they are worse than Richmond and Carlton fans and thats saying something!). Even this year at the G we had a few of them near us and they were great, well all except for one, but his mates sorted him out.
 
I usually don't mind any supporter who shows passion for their club, however I was sitting in a bay with a lot of Crows fans and behind us there were 4-5 Collingwood boys. After the match ended and people started leaving, they began to swear and antagonise parents and young children about the loss. I thought this was particularly untasteful especially to the kids who were there to watch a good game. I know it's only a few and I don't generalise, but sometimes it works both ways.
