Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
Victoria
Flood Alert
For the Docklands region for Saturday 12 April 2008
Issued at 7:30 pm EST on Thursday 10 April 2008
Flood situation
A cold front pushing north from St Kilda will encounter a high pressure system moving up from Geelong in the vicinity of the Telstra Dome at around 2:10pm in the afternoon.
A front of this nature would ordinarily dampen the impact of a high pressure system, potentially with flood effects.
However, the Bureau predicts that there is a 97% chance this particular flood attempt will have negligible impact.
The next warning will be issued by 5:30 pm EST Saturday. Early indications are that by this stage a torrential downpour emanating from the Geelong region will hit St Kilda hard.
