I would have thought the odds move depending on the money flow so as money comes in for McGregor odds for Mayweather ease out? Or are bookies happy to take money on Conor and get a better result when he loses?
Mayweather is rumoured to have dropped $5m on himself to win.
Bookies are happy to have a position on events, trusting the punters are wrong. Ideally, they'd lay either side to win the 3% or so regardless of which side, but they're all getting dangerously close to betfair and if they push Mayweather out too much, the averaged overrounds for the fight will be close to 100% and they won't make anything.
Apologies if that reads poorly, but entirely possible that there are more wrong people with money than those who know.
