You wouldn’t have clue what I have or haven’t done for this country, but I wager it’s a damn sight more than you ever have.

I’m not interested in virtue signalling.

My point was your use of ‘we’ when discussing the past.

You were also unable to defend your point about being scared to express national pride when I pointed out there is a national public holiday.

Im not scared.

It’s the left and there continual push to marginalise ANZAC Day, and portray it as a tired and offensive anachronism unsuited to the needs of ‘contemporary multicultural Australia’, and those who celebrate it as racist white nationalists, that make me angry.

There are people doing it in this thread, so don’t deny it’s happening.

Be angry until you’re red in the face.

People can and will continue to question the day.

Be angry until you’re red in the face.

People can and will continue to question the day.

And we will continue to commemorate it.

Under any and all conditions and circumstances.

Let you and your Antifa mates come and ‘question’ the day when it matters most KV.

See what happens.

Religion just always causes problems whichever country it's in

No surprises the countries with the best living conditions in the world are practically irreligious

Considering the atrocities the major religions have caused throughout history, it's batshit insane how we still think giving these people complete freedom and immunity is a good idea.

Of course. Which contradicts your earlier point about people being wary of celebrating it.

No I said people like you trying to demonise people into being wary of commemorating it.

The fact you continue to use the word ‘celebration’ in relation to Anzac Day, betrays your complete ignorance on the topic.

You’re just going to have to deal with the fact that some people have less reverence or even no reverence for it.

So I'm sure no one's very surprised at the outcome of today's concilliation meeting. I thought Folau's appearance on Sky with Jones the night before where he made fresh allegations about RA was hardly the most tactful of approaches. Any slim chance that might've existed of a positive result today was frittered away with that appearance IMO.

The rank hypocrisy of taking your free speech crusade to the channel that wants defund the national broadcaster was pretty appropriate.

That’s the way a social justice warrior like you would see it.

Patriotism as a dirty word.

The rest of us simply see it as having pride in being born Australian, and pride in the things which have contributed to our young, independent, nation being what it is today.

And as I said...Yasmin pissed on all that.

And you celebrate her for it.

You make me sick.

She's a twit, but this "I'm proud to be Australian," shit is embarrassingly ****in dumb and primitive.

Funny to hear the hero liked above, have a slow dawning awakening himself. Hater of the right, now hater of the left, LOL
Dear me, where is that sensible centre?

You literally just finished telling us how you were emotionally triggered by criticism of a national holiday.

Why would you criticise Anzac Day out of interest?

Genuinely curious.

Australia Day, ok...I can go with that one...can at least understand why people would get there nose out of joint.

But Anzac Day?

What’s too be offended by one day a year where we commemorate those who laid down there lives fighting for our country?

Seriously, if you have issues with that, you have major problems in your life.

It infantilises some men and boys who had either no idea what they were in for or who wanted to pull up stumps.

It was a waste of life. That kind of shit is to be mourned. It’s been turned into jingoism at best, further justification for war st worst.

If there was a commitment to not send men off to this shit for foreign empires, then the day had meaning. But that hasn’t happened.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)is about to investigate the Australian Christian Lobby's $100,000 donation to Folau because “expected all registered charities to meet their obligations under the ACNC Act and the Governance Standards” (ACNC press statement) and it goes on to say “This may include not pursuing its charitable purpose, not operating in a not-for-profit manner, or providing private benefits to members.”

The Australian Christian Lobby is a very murky organisation and has very strong ties to the Liberal Party. I wonder if anyone's told the "freedom-of-speech" advocates who have got behind Folau that he and Morrison reckon that the vast majority of them will be going to hell as well?

ACNC has also been cracking down on all religious charities' tax and finances in general, knowing the huge amount of corruption there

This is the behaviour of a religious organisation that knows that it is under fire and trying to hold onto whatever monopoly they have left

Good you agree that this is a problem.

What if he was implicit instead of explicit? Is it OK now?

As a father, that would potentially even more worrying; getting into sociopath territory.

But Folau has not privately directed a tailor made statement towards anyone declaring them the object of an act of fantasy in the here and now. It’s worrying that the difference between your scenario and his is not glaringly obvious to you.

So now, imagine you have an employee, and they tweet sexually implicit fantasies about red heads.

Is it OK now?

I don’t care that some idiot thinks I’m going to hell. I don’t believe in his hell, so it really doesn’t affect me one way or the other. Some other person thinks I’m not going to achieve Nirvana. I don’t begrudge them their beliefs either.

I do care that there are people out there who would seek to control the speech and thoughts of others. I find contrary thinking far more valuable than group-think, so that shit sends shudders down my spine. As I’ve said before, putting up with idiots like Folau is a small price to pay to avoid this well trodden path to tyranny.
