Being an alcoholic is not the same as being gay even if there is a genetic predisposition in some people.
..

Why is it different can you explain that

Israel believes alcoholics go to hell so what does that say to hard wired people with alcoholism
Why aren't they being defended and why is their pain less

Thanks actually wrong. You can't clause your way out of the law. That is ultimately what this about: the friction between religious freedom, anti-discrimination and contracts. Contracts will come a distant last if this goes to a real court.

I'm a bit confused, maybe I'm a simpleton !!!.

Rugby Australia says we'll pay you a million a year to play for us, under the following conditions. One of those conditions is to respect others for their sex, colour, religion etc.

Folau says, yep I agree to that, signs and then starts receiving his million dollar salary.

The option for Folau if he doesn't like the conditions, he can go off and ply his trade in Tonga or the Cook Islands etc.

Folau has breached his contract by mouthing his lack of respect for others. Yes, as a good Christian, he failed to respect others. To put it simply, if he didn't like the contract clauses, he should have advised RA, walked away and thus RA don't pay him.

No one has every stopped him being a committed Christian. Behind private doors, do and say what you like, just don't mouth off in public. If you want the huge salary, curtail your "out spokeness" in public.

As an aside, I'll wander around my worksite and yell out that gays are going to hell, women are all t...ts, foreigners go home etc. Wonder how my CEO would feel about that, quick march out the door me thinks. But I'll claim religious freedom !!, pull the other one !!!.

If you don't like the terms of a contract, don't sign it.

This discussion proves that people have biases....they want to attack Folau over gays being hard wired but really don't care about others struggling with their issues and dismiss them with it's their choice.

Strangely they are taking the position of choice with others which religions have done with gays
That is double standards

Science has proven that many people are strongly hard wired in areas which are not acceptable to society so be making this only about gays proves the agenda of many people

I'm not sure what you're arguing then because you've gone off track from why homsexuals being on that list stood out as the item in question and the reason we have this thread and his position in the ARU is in question

I am stating the actions regarded as a sin in regards to homosexuality in the bible is a choice , it is not just simply based off being attracted to the same sex .

Yes because marching around the workplace yelling it at the top of his lungs is exactly what he did . Are you telling me you have never shared anything or said something inappropriate on your social media accounts in your life

Folau didn't shout it out in his workplace and the specifics of the contract are being disputed.

To those saying he broke the rules of his contract, currently across this nation thousands of people are contesting laws, contracts, wills etc etc etc which is acceptable under the law

People go to court for unfair dismissal all the time, people challenge wills all the time, people even protest against current laws.

I wonder if parents wrote some of you out of their will and gave it to your siblings whether you will protest that legal document

so wouldn't fornicators have covered everything then?

yes and having sex other than to procreate within a marriage is bad because reasons....

So is Folau not allowed his views or just not allowed to express them?

So is Folau not allowed his views or just not allowed to express them?

He is allowed to express them but if his employer has asked that he not post anti-gay stuff online and he goes ahead and does that, then he has to accept the consequences.

If I was to do the same thing at my place of work, (that is post what he did and identify my place of work) I would definitely expect a call from HR to pull down the posts and not to do it again, if I was lucky. Not only did he do it after being warned to do it, he refused to take down the posts after being asked by his employer to do so. Why should Folau be any different to a pleb like me?

I do note that just about every political party has dis-endorsed a candidate in the current election because of stuff they've posted online.

He is free to express whatever he wants to. And his employer is free to sack him if they believe those actions are not in line with what they expect from their employees.

Here's a query for you :-

If Folau was the 19th best player in the Wallabies, would we have such a big drama ?.

Cynical me thinks that 19th best would have been quietly told that he is not going to be selected for the next tour / representative games, effectively sending him to "Coventry". Little would appear in the media.

The old saying, "treat your best with kid gloves, boot your dispensible".

Fair points, but with the will, did I sign an agreement to the wills terms ?.

A will is something your parents write and sign, a contract is something you sign.

We seem to tolerate anything Islamic far more than other religions and media and politicians will bend backwards to not offend Muslims but it has become very noticeable that other religions do not get the same courtesy.
BTW I believe most Muslims are decent people but I do wonder if a Muslim said this would there be there be the same outrage??

When Anthony Mundine said the outrageous stuff re: homosexuality he was roundly condemned (and rightly so). He attempted to justify his comments on religion (Islam) and culture (Aboriginal).

3% sales decline is massive for a company like Gillette dealing in hundreds of millions units every quarter.
Not within standard deviation at all
That was just after the advert however. So if you look at it now, it only declined 1% this quarter. Most of that is due to increased competition and higher pricing. It has actually had to lower prices to keep up with things like dollar shave club, which then effects overall numbers.

But hey, I'm just using sound logic. Maybe I should use CC logic and blame everything on the left.

My main point was that people all the time contest contracts and the law that are far more serious than Folau.

We have rotten rapists and murderers contesting their sentence and some crims even got compensation from the govt (taxpayers) and there was less outrage than Folau

To my understanding, Israel had already been given a formal warning about his “comments contry to contract”. If he was unhappy with the conditions at that time, why was the legality of these clauses not tested in the law courts, at that ?.

He had the chance to test his contract in the courts then, what has changed ?.

To my mind, if you want the big money in sport or business, you must make sacrifices. They may be, move interstate / overseas, split up relationships, abstain from alcohol, abstain from drugs, work in dirty conditions, refrain from making comments against employers interests etc.

Could it be said that Israel hasn’t bought into the Wallabies team ethos of making sacrifices to gain the team goals ?. Some refrain from alcohol, some live away from partners, some refrain from making derogatory statements ...

Your research indicates Gillette ran a special campaign and immediately sales were down 3% year on year?
Campaign fail using your sound logic

Again, it was figures just after the campaign, current figures don't indicate any major loss. You're hoping it is.. but you're actually wrong like usual. Just like every student gets PR for free.

That's par the course for many religions....its been done for centuries for all sinners not just gays

Also some of the vilest abuse I have heard personally and on social media is by atheists towards religious folks. I had a atheist friend who would mock religious people mercilessly and bully them. I don't want atheists to lose their jobs over that and I can't recall religious people demanding they lose their jobs

There's a whole lot of hypocrisy and intolerance going around

If you doing Christianity right then who cares what people say.

Technically speaking, Rance could post things about the same groups of people being destroyed by the four horseman at the apocalypse while the earth transforms into a paradise for all of the Christians who are raised from the dead to live forever on.
But he doesn't.
Be like Rance Izzy.

Danny Baker was sacked from his long standing job with the BBC for a perceived racist joke he made on his personal twitter account .
https://www.news.com.au/entertainme...y/news-story/8218a3466dbbe86f655205a27e1b1a09

It was of A picture depicting a monkey leaving a building dressed in a suit holding the hands of an adult couple. He titled it Royal baby leaving hospital. .
The poor taste joke being the monkey was the child as Meghan is of African heritage.

Can’t understand why Bakers right to be racist is being impeded, what is this world coming to, where is free speech????:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Was his private email account , nothing to do with the BBC.?????

Free speech is NOT a licence to say anything you want at anytime.

Baker will now have to live with the consequences of his post.

Will Issy???
