Yes they had a choice when they chose to sign the employee contract which they were advised of prior to employment.

You don't think QANTAS has 1 single employee that's been there long enough to pre-date any of these new company values?

Plenty of corporations make these decisions 're company charter values on behalf of their employees with no consultation. It gets announced and you toe the line.

disgraceful....................he was preaching his religious beliefs. have you read 1984? familiar with wrongthink? disgusting. and here you are celebrating the loss of our liberties one by one
It’s not a loss of liberty though. He can say whatever he wants. His employer can choose to terminate his contract.

That’s how freedom works.

Bump this thread next time people don't understand the AFL doing themed rounds.

Who decides on the themed rounds? I don't really remember hearing anywhere about the players ( employees) having a say, they seemed to get fixtured in, Gil makes an announcement, the players keep their mouths shut and play.

How is he discriminating against anyone? He's just relaying the message his religion gives him.

Is he personally abducting people and giving them an escort straight to hell?

What he has posted is absolutely ridiculous and should be seen and treated with the ridicule it deserves.
You left off , and the consequences it brings.

He signed a contract saying he would not discriminate on the basis of sexuality, he has previously disregarded this, this time i reckon he will be held to account. I wonder if this is battle he actually wants.

I support a non white minority to have his say without losing employment only racists object

Thats right and that the way it should be.
Company dictates the terms of the contract including not discriminating on the basis of sexuality.

Little doubt in my mind that some AFL club will sign him if he can't get fixed up overseas. If he still wants to play team sport.

How has his post discriminated against anyone?

It probably covers about 99% of the population.

He's not actually discriminating against anyone by withholding or denying or excluding, he's posted up some words and people are losing their shut over them.

Is everyone using the correct terminology on this subject?

I don't understand how he is discriminating against anyone. If someone wants to throw in the word vilification, that might be closer to the mark. Might be.

Why? He was in the AFL to be an ad for the Giants. That's done. Everybody knows the Giants. Now if clubs want a 30-year-old, unremarkable player there's plenty who aren't openly homophobic they can sign.

Are you really defending him? If he said this about Aboriginals he'd be completely finished.

What exactly is your argument here?

Both employer and employee have the right to do what they did.
