Butk
wow. Well, where did that come from? AU win 3:2, and Brody (who the F***) Burkitt gets a hatrick.

Adelaide United this week will announce they have sold Burkitt off whilst his price is high... ;)

Unforgettable game for him to announce himself.

MV still whinging. They would put GIAE to shame.
Statement released from Melbourne Victory about Saturdays match against Adelaide.

Also, Robbie Slater in today's "tiser. What a W:anchor:

What a farce.

There was no way Smits had a delayed reaction. He was jolted to the spot because the ball was past him before he realised, and well out of his reach. Once again, a referee has felt he must act on a VAR query rather than showthe guts to say to the VA,R “thanks but no thanks, nothing to see here”.To rub further salt into the Victory’s wounds, Adelaide United’s Ryan Kitto scored in stoppage-time to secure all three points for the Reds. Had Grimaldi’s effort not been disallowed, Adelaide wouldn’t have scored a second goal. Victory players were deflated after Keevers’ decision, whichled to the Reds taking advantage of some undeserved momentum. Adelaide coach Airton Andrioli’s celebration after Kitto’s goal wasn’t a good look. He should have realised how fortunate his team was to have won and actedaccordingly, rather than celebrate like the Reds had won a grand final.

Look I'm no soccer dude but surely that was offside, he was in the line of play. It wasn't like he was 5 metres to the outside of the post, he was right in the middle of the play...and offside.

Who?

The club signed him at the start of last year and immediately loaned him out in Netherlands, supposedly with the idea that he would attract interest there and the club could collect a transfer fee.

If that didn't work out he would move to Adelaide for the rest of his contract.

The one complication was that he was seemingly terrible. (Or there is something even weirder going on in the background)

Oh, and he used up an import slot that could have otherwise been used to sign someone in the mid-season window.

He had a decent year in Dutch 2nd division, so he should have been able to fit into the A League easy enough.

Something very weird going on.

But I wonder if we have our eye on another rubbish import free agent??

AU up 1:0 at 1/2 time thanks to a great team goal scored by Jonny Yull. I was quite impressed with how we played that half. Let's keep it up.

Not sure having a match at 4:20 pm in early Feb is a great idea.
Losing Riak is not good either.

Head Coach Airton Andrioli has made two changes to his extended squad for Round 16 to face table-toppers Newcastle Jets. Ethan Alagich has returned from his hamstring injury he sustained at the U23 Asian Cup, while Austin Ayoubi rejoins the 20. Vinko Stanisic is omitted as well as newcomer Ajak Riak, who sustained an injury at training this week.

Reds season is cooked without Goodwin...

AU is looking at any injury replacements? AUneeds aclass CB urgently.

Clubs elsewhere are signing players. One would think that with our injuries piling up, AU would at least be looking at signing a class Center back. Vriends is too slow, Barnett is not up to it, and who knows where Kikianis will be at season's end.

Ex-AU player Ap Stam is back in Sydney.
