....I actually turned this game off at HT. I was disgusted about the game/result last season against the Pies and thought it may have been a one off, but when it hit HT on the TV i checked the result on the net and seen things not much better and watched something else.

Can call me whatever you want, but what good is it doing for AFL in western sydney when we turn up to a supposed 'marquee' game and deliver that type of garbage? 60k turned up to watch that and i feel sorry for every single one of them.

There you go. Been supporting the Swans since 1994 and in all the games i've watched i've never turned it off before FT. I can take the medicine if we're losing and having a dip, but not when you've only kicked 1 goal to HT and playing atrociously. ESPECIALLY when we learnt nothing from Rd 12 last season after dishing up the same thing.

Yeah I can't blame you there Ed.

I wasn't far off doing that myself. Probably the most frustrating game I have ever watched.

terrible game and i was pretty shocked and disappointed we offered nothing different from our last 3 encounters with collingwood, infact, we were even worse. It's put me in a bad mood.

i wholeheartedly, disgustedly agree

i can cop us losing games, i can cop us even being blown away, but i cannot cop watching a game (in this case, ANOTHER game against the pies) where a) we play an abysmal, non-competitive, unattractive, heartless style of footy
and b) the game is gone, beyond us, by halftime
in fact, even though the pies kicked just 5 goals to halftime, we were pretty much beaten, or at least on the surface LOOKING beaten, five minutes into the second quarter

is it something about playing the black-and-whites that hypnotises our players, puts them in some kind of mindless trance, as we take the field???

seriously, how can ANYONE explain why we played this game as a carbon copy of the previous three encounters with collingwood?

fck, FCK, i am so disappointed
we wait two weeks to play, and for we here in melbourne having not seen us on free-to-air telly for, what is it, two months? and we get THAT???

Worst game ever, but you have to guts it out Ed,in your time we have only missed the finals 5 times.
if we make the finals this year it will give us the best record in the last 13 years, beating the weagles

alot of younger posters dont understand what it was like to turn up every week expecting to lose, they dont know how good they got it, and I hope they never find out

It doesn't ease the pain of last nights game to be able to say "at least we're not in 1993 mode". If anything it makes it more unbearable, as we expect so much more of the club than we once did.

I'm not one of the people calling for heads to roll, or predicting dark times ahead after one game, but it seems reasonable for us to wallow in a bit of pessimism and gloom after what was a terribly insipid performance on the biggest stage of the Swans calendar (finals excepted).

:)

I'm slowly slipping out of wallow mode. Last night the world's strongest anti-depressants would have done nothing for me. Amazing how 24 hours can change things :thumbsu:

Another swans fan at work turned it off for the wedding singer.

FFS, soft.

we deserved better. as i mentioned in my opening post, i have no problems watching us when we are losing, i can cop it on the chin. but for players to come out and address they were disappointed in last years efforts against collingwood and turn up and do the same thing, to me, was abysmal.

cant say i turned it off for the wedding singer however, watching that in itself is soft. :p

Bad game? Yep vomitous at times.

Panic stations? Time to moan and groan and look for heads that require rolling? NO!

We are tracking well - better than in previous years at this time. No 1 has a few problems but he is in a team that will give him every chance to get the head sorted and be supported back into the fray when he is right.

The Swans cant serve that up again this year - and for whatever reason the Pies seem to bring that game out in us each time we have played them over the past few years.

Dont take the lead of the fickle media and change your view of a side each week.

Stick fat Swans fans.
