They're obsessed with stability and not sacking coaches because of our past.
It's killing the club
Have to agree.
I can understand why they are like that - but they're paid for the future of the club - not to be bogged down over the past - they have to be better than that.
I've felt like this since watching the pumping by Carlton in that elimination final. Still haven't got over it. And was completely convinced after the Port one. Can't yet talk about Norf.
Just hope we don't have another of those late season runs to paper over the cracks and have to endure another 2 more seasons of this.
Most games of any coach in history without winning a final just sums it up really.
I'll keep buying my membership too...but I can't go to games anymore...round 1 may have been a win but it didn't look good for what was to come.

Yet they killed our club by signing an unwarranted 2 year contract. Surely the lesson should have been to not hand out contract extensions for no reason.

I know what you are saying ..I'm a 3121 member was in the city yesterday ..just couldn't bring myself to go ...new how it was going To go down and to be honest I just end up angry and frustrated ..don't need that in my life
Yet you get on Richmond forums the next day to complain?

The game was infinitely more enjoyable than reading these forums today.

How has it killed us? He'd still be coaching right now whether we signed him or not.

If we decide he's not the man we'll pay him out. There are clauses in contracts to cover this. It certainly won't send us under or "kill us". Get a grip.

Have you seen the contract ? If so please inform us of the details

You realise we were once heavily in debt and a big reason for that was continually paying out coaches needlessly. We're doing the same thing here when the inevitable happens. Let's make a million dollar profit and hand it straight over as a payout!

I've been very patient and have sat back to see how the season unfolds. Sadly it's got worse to the point , we re quite possibly the worst team going around. The coaches game plan is redundant and in any case he has lost control, that is clearly evident with the on field calamity we see. I'd sack him now with matt Knights as a stand in , no promises
Recruiting is now making me sick to the pit of my stomach , in particular how NM have aced the draft and fa and our strategy has delivered squat , a major overhaul is required and I like the sound of matt rendell being involved
If our vfl results reflect our player development , they too need to be sacked. It will be costly , however our time is nigh , some clever recruiting and a good coach and we will rebound like wc did
Oooh and someone wAke me up when it's done, I'm gonna play fetch with the dog

Its bc they are all clueless on how to take the next step
They've been Guessing all along and each time they sucked up the excuses like we are learning and we're getting better would surface. Then when all of this became the bleating obvious they then changed their tune to stability . When Russo came up with a new game plan movement from top down to bottom they all came out to save their incompetent mates arces and the Stability word surfaced from people who were sucking up pre Frawley

I saw this coming. All my mates had a go at me for not renewing my membership and now I don't feel bad about it. The club can get ****ed for signing hardwick.
I won't be going to another game until he is gone. Same with Morris and Hampson.
And why the **** would he trial god damn Chaplin in the forward line? Why not, I dunno, bring in a talented young kid called Lennon to get experience in that area? Oh no, let's drop him every second week and play Chaplin who has played defense all his life and is 30 in the forward line and will never make it there.
He is coaching for himself and not the team.
Rant over.

We are so unfit
Our recruiting team suck
We are obviously mentally shot
We have a ruckman coaching our midfield and you can see it in how the midfield works and the effort they put in
Development is rubbish, what exactly is chocco doing?

There is 5 jobs that have to be replaced no matter what regardless of dimmas position end of year

This season is cooked. Everything, on and off the field, should be with a view to next year, the year after. Play the kids. Play guys in their preferred position, don't give untalented hacks a farewell year and gift them games in the forward line (looking at you Chaplin)... Rotate the kiddies in three to four game blocks so we blood them but don't completely demoralise and destroy their confidence.

Get a fricking high draft pick for a change.... and get that pick right....

If the RFC was to be ruthless, see ya Dimma, Choco, fill in for the rest of the year. End of season, complete sweep out of coaching staff...

Go into next year with that feeling of optimism...

Prove it.

Unfortunately, if we pay him out, it's not just about the funds going out, the salary still is included in the salary cap.
But if we clear out a few senior players, going near the cap may not be an issue.
Be interesting to go back and see all the posters on here who were of the opinion we had to re-sign him because the media attention about it would cause unnecessary negative influences on the players.
My feeling should we lose a few in the early rounds, the media pressure would be warranted. If we won games, the pressure would positive ie. Richmond need to get a contract signed.
We now have the worst outcome..contract for 2 years and losing games with the negative media attention there anyway.

We were ****ed either way it doesn't matter what we did. As a sign of faith he deserved an extension.

And no, his contract doesn't go towards the salary cap..

Yep I do
As do you it seems to have a shot
And it is both our rights to do so
Are we done here ?
Yeah but I'm not the one saying I couldn't handle going to the game am I?

It is your right yes. Just questioning why someone who doesn't care enough to go to the game then cares enough to come on here and post negative comments about the game and team.

Have you never signed an employment contract?

And no, I can't prove it by posting his contract online. Can you prove that it doesn't?
You made the statement. Prove it and stop trying to deflect. I'm waiting.

Ive heard there is a finals clause in the cintract. Could be wishful thinking but best case scenario we can sack him no payout once finals are gone.

So should be next week:p

How do you want me to prove it? I'm saying in general employment contracts contain clauses for early termination. Would there be a payout? Yes. Would it be the full contract payout? No.

That's how these things work.

Prove to me that you know they don't work this way. Go.
