Anyone know what Grammy is up to these days? Always liked him as a player if not a bloke. Was a seriously good player despite his penchant for helicopters, and to be out of the league at 28 for off field issues was sad to see. Doubt he would have made it past 2013 anyway though.

In an alternate universe somewhere he could be retiring this year a 2 time premiership hero, norm smith medallist and favourite son of the club. Instead he was sacked in disgrace and faded into obscurity. Strange to think about

Last I heard he was traveling, between here and the US as he's an NBA fan, he was playing for the Sale Magpies (Matty Ferguson was/is coach) in the Gippsland league.

hope the X-Man can become an assistant at st kilda sometime soon. I thought he was really good, he was my favourite player at one point, his speed and X-factor was great to watch. Shame that injuries cut him down and it baffles me how people say he's just as bad as his brother
I agree, X could have been anything. He had a lot more polish and skill than Raf. He was playing a blinder in the '06 elimination final against Melbourne until he got injured.

Don't know if he will be any good of a coach, They lost the premiership cup.

In all serious though his transformed the side from last year. Improved there game plan drastically.

X wouldve been a silky smooth gun of a player if his body didnt let him down.
No disrespect to Raph who tried his best for us as well. But X was a class above Raph IMO.
Xavier is a great role model for young indigenous players and it would be great to get him back in the AFL in a coaching role one day.

I agree with what you are saying, but Raph may well have the qualities of a good coach. ( How did Brendon Bolton's AFL career go ).

In fact there is almost a Statistical argument that says really good players make crap modern day coaches. ( now brownie points for throwing Leigh Matthews in my face ).

Jason Blake screams potential coach to me.

He so fits the demographic, but he's got other interests i think.
( He would be a great ruck coach, if he could ruck at his height, how would his skill be transposed to Jason Holmes ?).
