What's everyone's thoughts so far? Any good?

A bit disappointing if you ask me. To be honest i feel short changed having to watch that twat Robbo every night instead of Clinton Grybas.

On the Couch - this was my favourite TV show for years. Gerard and Mike are great, Paul Roos is as boring as his football strategies. Walls was a complete c-nut but at least he wasn't boring. Healy-Sheahan-Hird was the best combo.

Another reason I am bored of this show is that I don't give a toss what Michael Voss or Steven Johnson or <insert guest name here> has to say. They are media trained to be vanilla. Give me a journo with an opinion any day.

AFL 360 - Liked it last year because it was once a week and the highlight was King and Maclure. It's okay but because it's every night it's padded out with filler.

League teams - Brian Taylor is a massive loss. I don't mind Derm but he tries too hard. Parkin is excellent. Shaw is an idiot. I didn't mind Pickering either. Big drop down mainly because BT is gone. Best line up: BT, Derm, Parkin, Pickers

Before the Bounce - this show isn't working for me. It's stale and the dynamic between the panel doesn't work for. Dunstall is good. So is Spud. But I'm over their relationship dynamic. Split them up. I don't mind Fleming but prefer someone who can talk footy rather than barracking. Yesterdays heroes needs a revamp. I prefer they go find former players and pit them against each other. Go get McKernan and get him on the golf course against another former player who is handy with irons. Go get Phil Read and Brett Peake and make them have a surf off.

AFL Insider - Best show on TV. Dunstall, Lynch, and King are great.

Notable Gains
Lynch
King
Maclure is good for short segments

Losses
Grybas
BT

I always wondered why Wayne Schwass got the punt. Didn't mind him. Bteer than Tony Shaw.

First - AFL Insider is still on weekly. Before the Bounce has been gone for some time, replaced by After the Bounce. Last time I checked, Dunstall, Lynch, and King were not regulars on AFL 360. Finally, while your points about Grybas are valid, he has been gone for about 4 years now (sadly).

You might want to do some more research into the channel.

Should have Huddo hosting League Teams. Can't stand Dermie.

After The Bounce has sucked the first few weeks and it's no fault of Lynch.Spud is usually good but he acts the idiot and giggles for 95% of the show now.Maybe it'll improve when the real season starts.

The voice-over guy has annoying voice.

They need a 30 minute footy news show each weeknight.

Hard to judge most of the shows considering they were all forced to start early because they need to put something on the new channel, and we're only at the NAB Cup stage so there isn't much to talk about.

No idea whose idea it was to have Dermott hosting a show though. What happened to BT? I'm still baffled as to why they decided to put an ex cricket player on an AFL show as well.

it's slicker. I still hate Brereton and Dunstall with a passion. Huddo not used nearly enough. Some of the graphics are dumb.

Dwayne Russell is still a dick
Paul Roos is OK but too biased and precious.
I don't mind Lynch but many others seem to hate him.
Eddie is smug.
The best caller, apart from Huddo is that bloke from SA.
Did I say Dwayne Russell is a douche? yeah I did!

After the Bounce - most stupid show ever produced and not funny at all. Spud plays the goose and it gets annoying all the phoney shit they do. I don't watch it now.

AFL 360 saves the whole thing really. Gerard & Robbo are Gold. This and On The Couch are the only footy shows worth watching apart from the matches.

Not too early to judge at all. Spud has been and always will be shit.
Ditto Tony Shaw. Parkin is redundant. Dermie, it's always about Dermie.

I lke Whately on 360 but Robbo is a yobbo. Can't believe this guy may be Chief Football write for the Hun.

King is good and always thought Lynch was ordinary, but watched some NAB Cup on weekend and he was pretty good as an analyst.

TBH i hardly watch their crappy shows. Only interested in their game coverage. Eddie is a big blow, he just doesn't cut it as a game commentator.

I am not a Tony Shaw hater but I do agree what he says and how he sounds is bloody annoying sometimes, but I also think he provides a bit of personality which is sadly lacking on some shows.

Not sure why all the Parkins hate is about because out of all the elder statesmen of the game (like Walls, Blight etc) he was always the best one.

Have to admit I am a David King fan despite him saying we wouldn't win the flag last year. I also like Liam Pickering too.

After The Bounce = Tripe

i watched the first After The Bounce and duly decided to leave it to the start of the season. Spud reminds me of Dougie Hawkins after he decided he was he a comedian. AFL360 looks like it has a good dynamic with the nerd/yobbo combination (I already knew that Andy Maher was a w***er though). AFL Insider looks like it will be close to a must-watch once the season is in full swing and they have something concrete to sink their teeth into (if mixing metaphors that badly is allowed). I'll give Dermie a bit of a chance to settle into his role as well, League Teams seems a bit all over the place at the minute. The interviews on On The Couch have been pretty good so far I reckon.

Either way I'm pretty sure that I won't have to bother with any of the FTA attempts at footy programming though, and that's a good thing. By the time FC comes on they'll just be rehashing what we've already heard twice, for instance.

Until Paul Roos leaves the couch, it should be called On The Fence.:p

Cannot believe Dermott "The Over-Enunciator" Brereton is hosting a show. My God, what has the world come to! Will never watch League Teams while he is in the chair. The Ego-ometer must be in overdrive at Fox Footy's new headquarters. Bring on Marngrook for 2012.

Having AFL 360 on four nights a week is complete overkill and takes awy from what wa a superb show last year.:thumbsd:

Can't wait for the season to start so can actually watch some proper footy over the course of the entire week and not have to watch this other rubbish. :thumbsu:

Cmon everybody, why all the negatives??? Sure its pre season and the shows dont have much at the moment, but its FOOTBALL and even if they are crap its better than watching Home and Away or any of the other dribble on free to air TV.

Remember its a new station, give it time!!!

That's a fair point.

During the season there will be a lot more to talk about. Games/players to analyse, games to preview, coach discussion, contract discussion, rule/tribunal discussion etc. etc.

At the moment, there isn't enough going on in the preseason, and I don't think anyone really cares anyway.
