Worst tackle attempt for some time. Frampton probably needs to realise he can't safely take him to ground by the neck.

That being said, the AFL have powered this situation by allowing high tackles to continue if the player is deemed to have ducked. A decision with absolutely no foresight applied (no surprise there) considering the head injury insurance issues already plaguing the league.

Hope checkers pulls up OK. We all thought Naughton was cooked and he turned out OK so fingers crossed

Terrible outcome but not sure what mihocek was going for with the head down and tucked like that. Tried to get handball out instead of bracing himself.

Awkward tackle.. I dunno. Don't think it's a suspension. Maybe he had a duty of care to let go of the tackle?

Miochek stumbled and then pushed headfirst into frampton. Potato frampton couldn’t have anticipated that.

How else is he meant to tackle him in that situation? Or should he have just let miochek continue on and not attempted to tackle.

It’s not the NRL champ a hip drop is not against the rules

It would just fall under rough conduct; dangerous tackle because of the head injury.

Yeah a hip drop that causes a busted ankle isn't specifically outlawed but this clearly falls into the dangerous tackle category

He wasn’t driven into the ground. He ducked his head and tried to run through the tackle. No arms were pinned either like your little explanation has.
Frampton grabbed him around the neck/shoulder and pulled him to the ground. He should get 3-4, or more, depending on the severity of the injury.

Yet again the poor Collingwood player left with no choice but to **** an opposition player up.

Much like with Brayshaw, despite the allegations the player had no chance to do anything different, I guarantee if that was Nicky at training they wouldn’t have completed the action in that way.

it was just a freak of nature incident with mihocek putting his head/neck in a vulnerable position

textbook holding the ball

Would hate to see Frampton suspended for that. Don’t think he did too much wrong just continued on with Mihoceck’s momentum.
Didn’t do too much wrong…. just drove his head into the ground.

Got me absolutely ****ed how the umpires and the commentators could not see what had immediately happened as soon as his head had hit the ground. I was sitting at home in shock.

He was always going to get injured when he’s taken to the ground like that, and then for the umpire to not pay a fee for a dangerous tackle when blokes lying on the ground motionless…. Absolutely bewildering.
