The bolded players are those who did not play against Richmond. It looks like the players who played against Richmond who missed out here are Pratt, Bradley, Sandilands, DeBoer, Hayden, Pearce, McPharlin, Mundy and Hill. The most interesting omissions being DeBoer, Pearce and Hill. Injuries or just resting?

Apparently North are fielding 24 men and we are playing with 25. So I think that means 4 will miss out from the above list. Sibosado, Connelly, Ruffles and Shepheard would probably be the most likely to miss out.

Interesting to note that North are not playing Hale, so who knows who will be playing at full forward. I guess the same could be said with us, with Grover likely to try to hold down the key forward role again. Maybe Murphy will do something this week, or we could play a kid up forward.

Yep interesting indeed. Pearce, apparently he is injured and I wouldnt panic over the other two... I'd say it's just a case of rotating players through the pre-season. You certainly wouldnt want to burn any of our promising youngsters out I guess.

Really excited to see some of those new names in there.

Clarke has the kind of wraps on him that Robert Warnock had in his first pre-season, great news for us!

Great to see Son-son, Suban, Conns, Sheps and Sibo named as well. Pretty much leaves Bucco (inj) and Ballanytine as the last rooks to play.

Wish the game was in Perth.

Great to see Gilmore back into footy. A relief to see a bloke recover from a serious head injury.

Excellent to see that Sibosado is getting a run! Our forward line could not be any more impotent without Pav, Taz and Ballentine down there.

Grover works his guts out but is not a natural forward.
Murphy has no guts and his kicking has left him.

Time for something new. Fingers crossed Sibo gets a run.

Excellent to see Suban getting his first hit out, I have great hopes for him
filling in the role that Black used to play.

Will be very interesting to see is they play Pav in the middle and Taz on the wing. Would LOVE to be seeing the game, it is perfect for experimenting because the Roos seem to be a little off the boil and wont be any better without Hale.

To me it looks like a strong team minus the Ruck depth.
Connelly, you had better show something otherwise you are going to be at the back of a long line. Clarke, fingers crossed he has a good run and does not get smashed.

The good thing about the great majority of players that have been drafted recently is that they are all keen as mustard. Not afraid to get in and under and are able to take a hit and get back up.

Best of luck team and I cant wait to see you in person. Go Freo!!!:D

interesting line up.... im hoping for the papers bests to show the following

Best: Hinkley, Schammer, Browne, Murphy, Pratt, pavlich, tarrant

would be awesome if that could happen

Unfortunately with Pratt not being in the squad, I don't think your wish will come true. Although going by the last game, he would still be a better chance to be named in the best than Murphy.

And I really can't see Connelly getting a game. Harvs said a couple of days ago that Clarke and Gilmore will be sharing the ruck duties.

ahh good spot there..

Interesting to note that North are not playing Hale, so who knows who will be playing at full forward.

Looks like Josh Smith will be playing full forward for us. Played full forward at North Ballarat last year and kicked over 50 goals along with BOG in the grand final. He's a big lad with a booming kick. Originally hails from West Perth.

Disagree, Connelly is the Ruck/Forward mould, maybe they might try him as a Kurt Tippett/Brad Ottens. Other than Murphy and Grover, only Pav is on that list as a forward. Grover should stay down back.

De Boer has a "hot spot" in his foot and has been on light duties for the past 2 weeks.

Great to see several new faces getting a run and a few of the older guys playing their first game of the year. I too hope sibosado gets a run because we really need to develop some forwards. Excited to see how suban, walters and clarke. I think the omissions will include Connolly, Head, Shepheard and Ruffles. Hopefully there will be some sort of coverage as I heard the eagles game will be broadcast from Darwin but not very optomistic at this stage.

Good to see Hinkley is geting a run I imagine he will be in our best 22 come round 1. Also interseted to see how Suban goes.

My buddy Gilmore gets to play and I wont see how he goes.

This should be his year.
He'd be right at his peak for the next couple of years.

According to the North board we are 14 points down.

No idea of scores or anything as this is coming from someone at the ground
