I’m not annoyed or even angry at Eagles fans*. I actually I feel sorry for them. I truly do. Because they support a fake, plastic club built on the premise of success above all else. The entire product is a shady ethics corporation with a football team. They’re just a corporate entity that throws bones to their hungry fans every time they want more money and they buy it hook, line and sinker. They’re one of the most sycophantic supporter bases I have ever witnessed (and that includes Man U supporters).

Everything in their entire life is centred around the success of 22 blokes that they’ve probably never met achieving in a sport that most of them have never played. Their fans act as if they’ve personally achieved every single little thing that disgusting club has done without ever taking onboard the detriment it has caused so many of their past players. They’ve been bought up like a spoilt private schooled single child who thinks it’s a divine right for them to succeed. They talked about Ben Cousins in such awe, respect and forgiveness yet openly mock and ridiculed Jeff Farmer and previous players of our clubs for off-field issues. Most of their fans I know wouldn’t give up the 2006 premiership if it meant the mental wellbeing of those players nowadays. They are too self-righteous to even acknowledge half of it.

Freo fans have had to work endlessly for even a modicum of respect and we’re still able to maintain somewhat mentally stable lives. We have to. Because you can't be a Freo supporter without resolve. It'd be too hard. Eagles fans don't have the balls to support anyone that isn't all peaches and cream. They wouldn't have the determination to stomach it. Eagles fans won’t nor never will understand what it’s truly like to bleed with all your heart for a team. They just drink chardonnay and watch the wins. Because when their losses come, they go feral, they viciously attack outwards so they never have to look internally at the cesspool of filth they actually are.

When we clapped our first finals team off in 2003, despite the loss, we got laughed and scolded by their fans for celebrating mediocrity. They couldn’t even consider the realms of having that moment. They never will. We never got the support GC/GWS got when they entered, we’ve never had the support of the media and the other mob’s fans. We’ve had such a rich history of indigenous culture and cult figures yet the media instead focuses on previous players doing something wrong 10 years in the future. We had a heart and soul player in Shaun McManus play his 200 games after two successful knee reconstructions and the media posted an article about him possibly being the worst 200 gamer ever. They have never shown us respect and never will. Because they don't have the cognitive ability to separate their disturbing love for their club and genuine love for something else. They just can't do it.

I genuinely feel empathetic for Eagles fans. They will never know what it’s like to support a team with such vigour and determination, despite knowing it may end in heartache time and time again. Most West Coast fans wear their guernseys to non-WC games. Because that’s how little of a personality they have. It's all they have. Just this outlandish hope that someone sees them and believes they’re important due to the team they support. They talk about their 3 premierships at a creepily alarming rate. They mention the first 10 years of Freo’s existence as if they had a hand in it. They get some kind of sick pleasure from it. It's eerie how much they get off on it. They sit in their glass houses so smug and content because that’s all they have. It’s all they’ll ever have. They boo everyone and anything and spend the rest of their lives in sedation that their team is successful.

So well done West Coast fans, the team you support has had some success and you can wear their apparel for a few more weeks. I honestly hope they never are unsuccessful for a long period of time, because their fans would not and could not handle it. They’re too brittle. They’re too plastic. They’re too hooked into the machine that they mindlessly worship. I genuinely feel sad for them. I pity them. I hope they never wake up from it because once they do, it’ll be a bloody nightmare for them. So just remember, while there may be two teams in this town… Only one has a heart.

9 straight wins to get into the prelim at least gave us some hope we weren't a total joke

Walking to the ' g ' with the rest of the purple haze for the GF , I'm sure every clubs fans feel something similar but it was a you had to be there kind of thing but it felt just ' more ' for us
