Tonite or last nite whenever you read this the game V Adelaide should teach you a lesson . Freo are not that bad a team & for the people who ring up public talk back radio & knock the people in the know really are not supportters. For the life of me I still cannot beleive are rubbishing Chris Connolly for the approach he sticks to. He took a rubbish team showred a direction stuck to it , acheived a bit of early undeserved success , stuck to the plan instead of fast tracking , still cops rubbishing , when we win , no one goes to talk back , when we lose all of troy longmuirs freinds go to the radio and ask for Connollys head .

Well today , I am asking for T longmuirs head to be in West Perth reserves. !!!

Tonite was a great win , what people have to realise in this cut throat league , that games we have lost maybe wasnt because of us being poor , its amazing some peopel dont want to accept that the oppsition were very good. Today we were very good , why was it Adelaide couldnt do to us what they did to Melbourne a few weeks ago ???

Guys for the rest of the year just realise , we are a young team , we are still learning & yes while we have lost more games this year remember we havent been smashed this year & more importantly we havent hit our straps yet at all.

I'll wrap this up now by saying I will trade all our home games for losses this year as long as all games on the road this year are wins :)

Agree 100%.

Amazing to think that had we a perfect record at home as expected we could be sitting third. I'm more than happy to have an even record with home and away wins.. now just to cement a place in the finals.

I really believe the team is better than last year. Some great football being played despite some results that should have been ours.

A great win considering the previous record at Football Park.

He may have made some fatal decisions in the losses we had, and Ill be the first to admit to have been critical about him this week and the whole coaching staff in general after last weeks loss, but I really should reteract my comments. He is by far the best coach suited to our side at the moment. For what he has done for the club, we should sing his praises from the roof. That was a gutsy, desperate performance last night and you could see in CCs emotions in the the coaches box that CC really did not want that one too slip away. He would have felt quite gutted after last weeks loss. The problem is is that all the media and supporters want to call for his head and the teams head all the time everytime after they lose, and he has to always jump to the clubs defence all the time.

The great thing about last night was that it was truly a must win for our club if we were to stay in the finals race, and we had everything stacked against us last night (ie. never beaten the crows in adelaide and get beaten by them easily all the time there, crows in good form and us in average to poor form heading into the game, very few people backed us to win apart from the few who tipped us only because they felt we had to win to stay in the finals). And Pavlich celebrated his 100th game in style in front of his home state, in front of his family at the game and kicking the last goal of the match after the siren. Every player tried hard and put in lots of committment and effort. McManus was inspirational. Well done boys!

And we are winning on the road (even though we have lost our last 3 at home- mind you port, melbourne and north are quality opposition against us who always cause trouble in perth when they are at top form!) which is excellent!

CC is not going to leave soon !

Error 404 , it looks like the players have pulled the finger out and started listening to the coach abit better
From what I wrote in theat post alot has changed & I did not once call for CC's head & too his credit and everyone elses name I mentioned there they have hit there straps .

They mustve read the post error404 ;)
They mustve liked the comparison I made with the FFC to the Portuguese NT in soccer.
& If I will fast track people what happened there . The Porko soccer team is choc full of talent unfortunately the media demands they pick the team ( maybe T Lo should go play in Portugal ) The coach in Big Phil Scolari showed patience gave what they wanted , without success , made wholesale unpopular changes with immediate results That really stuck it up the people who wanted to name the teams.

Error 404 or should I call you T Lo - I aint gonna back away what I wrote cause thats what I felt at the time & things have changed .
How did T Lo go yesterday - I heard he lead the Cardinals to a mighty 6 point loss at home to Peel ~!!!!

Fair enough for most of it FH, but you are being a little hypocritical when you have such an obvious grudge against Troy Longmuir.

T Longmuir is a quality player, and I'm still amazed that he signed on last year, knowing that for one reason or another he is not in Connollys plans. Personally I reckon he is a very good player who should be in the Fremantle 22 ahead of many players. No idea why he isn't in Connollys plans, because he is still young enough to be a part of CC's long term plan.

I'd love to see T Longmuir in the Blue & Gold in 05. I was hoping that we would make a push for him earlier this year.

Please state your reasons for your dislike of Longmuir.

PS - It's Longmuirs fault that the Cardies lost to Peel?

I have no grudge for Troy Longmuir - I beleive he is not AFL standard simple is that , what he does at WAFL level does not cut the mustard at AFL he is what you call a 1 trick dog.
I like you would love to see Troy Longmuir in the WCE Blue & Gold next season and we will see how you talk when he refuses to chase down defenders running the ball out of attack , we will see how Phil Matera or Sampi react when T Lo runs in and cribs into the leading space & I really wanna be at the ground to hear the crowd groan in disgust when he pulls out the well worn trick at kicking the ball around the corner to no one .

The reason he is not in CC's plans is because its either
A- There are 30 players ahead of him
B- He is crap & 1 dimensional whilst not being dare I say in the Phil Matera class to warrant a spot on the team
C- he is a trouble maker.

I'd have in my team ahead of Jeff Farmer and Andrew Seigert.

Well next season we hope T Lo is at the Eagles , then he can be in the team ahead of them 2 .

You can not be serious...

What does everyone have against Tlo, he's a good player. He's better than Farmer by all means. At the moment, Farmer is only useful for giving it to the crowd and filling up space on the team sheet. We need him to start doing his job as a forward and KICK GOALS. Troy Longmuir does that.

It really does baffle me as to why people don't like Tlo

Honestly, as an outsider, I just can't see what Jeffrey brings to the table. Apart from inciting the crowd, which as far as I know doesn't win you games.

I was talking to my older brother (lions supporter) about the matter and even HE says he'd love to have Troy Longmuir in thier side.

I'd be more than happy with a T Lo - Hadley swap !!!

How many Freo games have you been to this year?

I couldn't tell you the exact stats, but my guess is that Jeffrey and TLo kick, on average, about the same number of goals. What Jeffrey does that TLo doesn't is:

1. have a very good defensive side
2. set up goals for other guys
3. work hard at keeping the ball in our forward 50
4. lay tackles that stick
5. put a little fear into the opposition
6. chase - and catch - opponents

I am a TLo fan, but through the year, I have come to see that he is in no way in the best 22. Great guy, huge amounts of enthusiasm, no doubt a great club man... and a very handy player to have on the list in case of injuries to our forwards. He is not of consistent AFL standard.
Would love to see him succeed at AFL level, but sadly I don't think he will do that at Freo.

T Lo has been pretty good in any game he gets decent minutes in. Are you suprised he doesn't play consistently when he gets 5 minutes a quarter?

T Lo was a defender for us in 2000(?) and before he did his achilles was one of our best for the year.

Do you also forget T Lo's game against the Roos about this time last year? If he gets another go at another team I won't be suprised if he cements a spot in their 22 and does well.

Absolutely, but 2000 was a diferent "era" for us... ;)

And I don't forget his game against the Roos last year - or his game against adelaide at Subi - outstanding. But he rarely backs it up and lacks the class of Medders or the freakish talent (and tenacity) of Farmer to be allowed any "off" games. Unfortunately he's in the position of having to make every post a winner.

Who would you drop for him funky?

And neither would I be surprised if he "made it" elsewhere, but I just can't see where he fits in at Freo. We no longer need him as a defender, he's not a midfielder, we have enough half-forwards and small(ish) forwards. What we need is a KPP forward - which he is not.

 T Lo as a defender in 2000 was a diffrent era & right now we have the best defense in the league , back then it was the worst or one of the worst. & really T Lo only getting 5 minutes a qtr excuse is 5 minutes too much IMO .

I see T Lo as potential trade bait atm, good player but with the youngsters coming through probaly wont get any playing time unless we have another major injury.

I can see T-lo & Clive will probaly be dumped (traded) at the end of the year.
