Call me eager, but what are your thoughts on this weekends game?

Though I think we match up pretty well against you, I think the home ground advantage will see you get on top in the midfield and win by 6-7 goals. Not sold on how we're going to travel with this developing side. We've only been interstate once (Sydney) and it was our worst outing so far.

Hay v McPharlin - could be ok.
Croad v Pavlich - AA CHB v AA CHF? Looking forward to this one
Brown v Medhurst - Happy with that.
Osborne v Farmer - Happy with that.

Midfiled battle of:
Everitt, Mitchell, Crawford, Hodge, Bateman, Lewis, Vandenberg, Clarke
vs
Sandilands/Longmuir, Hasleby, Bell, J.Carr, Black, Headland, Schammer, M.Carr (********, your midfield is good).

Who do you think will get Williams? Stop him and you're certainties.

There's 3 hawks that are a concern. Williams, Everitt and Hodge. Parker will probably get Williams. If he does it will show how valuable he is to the side after playing on Richo, Fevola, Tarrant and Lloyd in recent weeks. Hodge is a worry, especially since McPhee carved us up and they play similar roles. Dodd is ready to come back in and may be suited to the role. If JLo can go close to breaking even with Everitt we should win.

Considering our poor performance at the Stoppages last week, we ignore Sam Mitchell at our peril IMO. One of the Carr's has to take him, the other one get's Hodge. Bell to take Crawf as per usual. Dodd to run on Bateman or Hodge.

As far as the backline goes, Parks/Williams, Thornton/Franklin, Polak/Roughead is my best bet.

williams will carve anyone up at the moment.
the problem is that you need to find someone quick enough to stay with him on the lead. once you have done this, chances are that they wouldnt have the faintest idea of how to play full back on a leading forward.
i thought daniel chick was the perfect match up last week, yet williams made him look like steven mckee!!!

We may have to have someone drop back and fill the space if Parker can't handle the pace.

I'm licking my lips in anticipation of the Pavlich/Croad battle. :D

Will Croady be booed?

Will be an awesome matchup, Pav is the only CHF i like in the AFL.

Lets hope Buddy lifts for his home state ;)

I know any team can beat anoither. If Freo takes the Hawks too lightly and Hawks have a blinder then yes, Hawks can win....

But in all seriousness...

Hawks will get towelled up at Subi, regardless of Everitt's dominance in the ruck. Freo has too much class (and older heads) in the midfield. Hawk's offence isn't as potent as Freo's offence. Freo's defence is miles ahead of Hawthorn.

If this was in Melb, I'd lean towards to the Hawks.

But its not, its at Subi (and Freo are smarting at a loss they were expected to win), so I expect a win of say, 30 - 50 points by Freo.

I will repeat, the only team that will beat Fremantle this weekend are themselves!

I would be surprised if he were booed. Parted on good terms and was more a case of Freo wanting to get rid of him rather than Trent wanting to leave I think.

the egirls are the team that boo for no reason at all...

we owe the hawks for mcpharlin so yeah!

cheers!

Did i read that right...Croad All Aust CHB.

Hilarious

Pav will kill him, as he did pre season at Joondalup, McPharlin will jump on Hay's head, Parker will maul Mark Williams.

10 goal win coming up

Pav will have a field day, but I'm not so confident about the rest of our boys.

The Fremantle web site says Hadrill is a chance to play this week

Some good news for Fremantle’s defence with Haddrill a chance to play on Sunday after rolling his ankle in the first quarter against the Bombers. The rugged defender will be tested during the week. link

I hope our medicos get it right.
Does he play on a dodgy ankle to get match fitness or does he get the cotton wool treatment. We will need him match ready against the cats.

We had wins against blues and dees without him. I believe we could handle the hawks on sunday much the same. Which would give his ankle another week.

The cats are a different story. Better he be up for them than a recurring ankle against hawks.

Yeah, I'd prefer him to miss if he wasn't 100%.

We'd be stupid to play him, Hawks don't have big lumbering talls in their forward line, Parker can cover Williams, Polak will get resting ruckman, Mundy on Franklin, Thonton or even Grover could take Roughead.

We will miss James Walker absence again though, he was finding his niche across back pocket/half back in place of the magician, Roger Hayden. I think Freo should look at trying either Schammer or McManus as a permanent back pocket for the next 3 weeks. IMO, McManus may resurrect his career one last time as a Back pocket.

My ins: McManus, Schammer
Outs: Haddrill (inj), Smith
