When push came to shove Fremantle were the better side on the day.

IMO Freo were extremely lucky to keep the 4 points in WA.
I'll take em deserved or not ;)

Just hoping yous guys pump the WesT Coast Faeces

The game could have gone either way and I'm just glad we were in front when the siren sounded.

Isn't it ironic how our midfield has been beaten for the majority of the year, but against the best clearance side in the league and arguably the best midfield in the league, we dominated the midfield and the clearances for most of the game.

P.S. That's twice Smart could have won the game for the Crows against Freo at Subi but for his inaccurate kicking. ;)
Yes, I do have a long memory. ;)

Heheheh that was that dodgy night when the boundary umpire was lame and kept dropping the ball at the ruckmen's feet - and the only Crow who turned up to play was Darren Jarman...

And I ask you honestly... remembering those replays from behind the goals and the numnut way the goal umpire and boundary umpire looked at each other willing the other one to make the decision before finally the boundary umpire blinked and called OTF - did Smart's last second snap just fall in for a behind? :D

Heh, I wasn't at the game so I only saw the reply of Smart's kick whilst watching it on TV...

Your guess is as good as mine. ;)

So terribly disappointing!

The story of our season thus far.

Last year I was reasonably pleased with the Crows results throughout the minor round, and very disappointed with results in the finals.

This year I'm hoping for the exact opposite, since the first part of that opposite has already happened.

Poor coaching and goal kicking cost us the game John**** missed two sitters, Smart missed one!!!!!

It also seems Ayres has no idea how to win the TIGHT ones, same result as the Collingwood game we get a five point lead and instead of flooding the oppositions forwardline we try and hit the boundryline,if we had od flooded in yesterdays game and the Collingwood game we would have won both of them:rolleyes:

It's losses like this that will cost us dearly come finals time:(

Last time Freo beat the crows by 1 point at subi they went on to win the flag.

You're not obliged to play the modest victor, but there's no need denigrade the comments made in this thread as 'crap'.

Far be it for a team's own supporters to let off a bit of steam on their own board after a tense, close and frustrating match. :o

tige19 doesn't support Richmond; despite using a handle that suggests he does. But you could just as easily describe the side he supports in exactly the same manner.

Yeah its the same team that gave your mob a touch up a couple of weeks ago at the MCG, funny that

You call that a touch up? We played miles below our best and your lot fell over the line by five points on your home ground.

Hey I hear your mob is ready to re-sign Schwab for a few more years. I'm already laughing my head off. The Hawks are ensuring themselves of a few more pathetic years like the last couple.

When you are watching us come finals time, you can take great satifaction that you beat us in the minor round. ;) :p

In all these comments about umpiring and missed goals, little comment was made about poor team work.

In the last quarter Farmer took a mark in the 50 and was on about a 60 degree angle. Farmer is not the greatest player at set shots, but is pretty accurate on the run with a hook. Farmer gets ready see's no opposition to his right, does a quick run to the right and then shoots it straight through the middle. Where was the opposition pressure?.

Fix what's within your controls, team work.

Yeah, got to agree. I was shocked that the Crows didn't have anyone near Farmer during his set shot. Dare I say it, if you had have had players there, you might have had the 4 points as well.

Well when Hawthorn and Adelaide meet in the first week of the finals and the game has to be played at the MCG then i will have great satisfaction in knowing that we will beat you even if the system is rigged.
Shame that :D

cheers

I'd say missed goals and wasted opportunities are within our control.

As for that final goal, we should have probably had someone there beside him with the knowledge that he's a specialist 'hooker' of the ball, but it's not as if he was tucked on the boundary, without daylight between the posts. Very late in the last quarter, it was reasonably fair to assume, IMO, that he was going to have a set shot. Oh well, a costly mistake but it didn't cost us the match.

And what happens if a man does go to him?... That leaves someone else open to receive the ball and even if Jeff did miss that leaves scores level, so what then?

You can only deal with events as they happen - and unfortunately at crucial moments... Farmer's juggled mark and run around goal... Bell in the centre-square when he had the courage to take the ball and a double hit... the blatant push in the back on Burton with a minute left that had even Cometti puzzled... the crucial moments went your way more often than they went ours.

Crutial umpiring decisions unfortunately always go to the home team. Its not right but unfortunately, its about the only thing in umpiring thats consistent these days.:(

Not unless a 'miss' is worth 5 points. :p

Yeah sorry... still... we'd still have to kick out and Freo would've flooded everyone forward to try and get us to turn it over.

IMO we were screwed either way.
