When Hase is fully fit, which he never is, he would always be top 10, probably top 5.

The top 2 are pretty obvious.

Surely you are kidding? How many really good games has he played in his 5 seasons at the club? I wouldn't have him in the top 20.

Some people have the memory of a gold fish! If he was to play the same level of footy for the first half of next season I would eat my words, but he is lucky to get on the field at this stage of his career!

Very true, but lately he has played very well given the opportunity. The second half of the season he played in Dockers Top 10, IMO. But he hasn't played enough games to judge whether or not he should be. Mine: 1. Pavlich (Obviously) 2. Bell (Scraping Ahead of Hayden) 3. Hayden 4. Black 5. Grover 6. J. Carr 7. Johnson 8. Schammer 9. Solomon 10. Sandilands (Still developing but I think will soon overtake Cox as the premier ruckman of the league) By the way guys, I'm not one of the WC supporters that hates the Dockers. In fact you guys are in my top 4 favourite teams. ;)

I don't know how Farmer and consistency get mentioned in the same paragraph. Unless you're talking about consistently letting us down.

1. Pav
2. McPharlin
3. J. Carr
4. Bell
5. Hayden
6. Johnson (would have had him higher at the end of last year)
7. Hase
8. Black
9. Headland (who wouldn't have made the list last year)
10. Farmer (only because he's valuable when he actually plays)

1. Pav
2. Farmer (might not always be consistent but imo is the 2nd most important player to our team.)
3. Bell
4. Hayden
5. J. Carr
6. Grover
7. Johnson
8. McPharlin
9. Dodd
10. Solly

If Hase could ever stay fit I'd have him top 5.

Fair call. But when he gets on the park he is consistent.

Not a fair call, more of a stupid call. Obviously he had a shocker last year, nobody would say otherwise. But for gods sake, they guy has been held goalless three times in the last three seasons. Three times. And last year was the only year he has been with us where getting on the park was an issue. What more does a small forward have to do to be consistent?

Pavlich
Bell
Grover
Hayden
Solly
Farmer
JCarr
Sandi

Not going to 10 because in terms of consistency there are not enough candidates. Next year I hope to have a longer list.

Not missing over half the season due to insanely stupid self inflicted preventable problems would be a fantastic start.

You can't just judge people only on what they do right. I rate Farmer as a player, but one thing you can't call him is consistent when he missed so many games due to his own actions.

He only missed a lot of games last season. If he had done it for a few season in a row I would agree with you, but he hasnt. Like I said, no one is disputing that he had a shocker last year discipline wise.

Look at it this way, Ben Cousins is also a very consistent footballer, granted he didnt get on the field much last year, but the guy is consistent in his onfield performance.

Jeff Farmer is a consistent AFL footballer. That's right, I said it.

Totally agree with Bluto. Jeff Farmer is the most important small forward in the league - hardly any other players have such a direct impact on his side's performances. Without him creating havoc in our forward line, we look stagnant down there...

Hopefully this year will change that but hopefully this year we won't have to do it without the Wiz either...

Anyway,

1. Pavlich
2. Bell
3. Hayden
4. Solomon
5. McPharlin
6. J Carr
7. Johnson
8. Grover
9. Tarrant
10. Black

11... Headland, Sandilands, Dodd...

I think it's interesting to note that our key position players tend to be consistent each week but it's the midfielders and flankers/wingers who mainly decide whether we win or lose...

The reason I didn't include Hase is coz he shouldn't even be considered. He's one of our most inconsistent players, injuries or no, and therefore one of our biggest disappointments. 5 great games a year doesn't make up for all the times he goes missing when the games on the line deep in the 3rd quarter.

Hopefully this year will see us dig in in those situations. Can't wait to also see an injection of different players through the guts...
