Watching the backline from high in the Coventry End on Friday night I was trying to work out what the f... Chaffey was doing.
He was trying to fill the hole, then pointing at others to pick up the man he just left when the poor dude already was minding his...
Then Chaffey would man up on a guy.....then drift away and leave him with enough space to lead to the oncoming ball..
Gee Chaff, in the space of a pre-season u've become an indecisive , stuttering, bossy fool.
Since u've returned, (after the Collingwood game) ur teammates are starting to adopt your 'headless chook' form of backline play.
Chaff needs a good foot up the a## now.
But then again he won't hear any intelligent stuff from the coaching staff.
My other sad Friday night observation:
As good as Tommy Roach looks like he's gonna be, lets hope Frawley doesn't let him develop into a 'run and blast' type of player like Tivendale, Fiora and Bowden, who all think playing well means sprinting away from your opponent and just blindly blasting. Tommy looks like he can hit people on the chest....so I hope the coaching staff encourages this, otherwise we'll lose another player to that flashy, useless style of football.
AND...
"The players need to hear a new voice down at Tigerland...it's as simple as that!"
