Outstanding work Weltschmerz!

Surely their managers just nominate them and they don’t even know themselves. Can’t see gibbs thinking he’s another shot at afl level

He has to nominate to be able to be rookie listed by Adelaide for contractual reasons. I'm sure every player has signed something. But noms do last multiple years (I think).

If we want to get technical here, it has Luke Meadows listed as being born in the year 0022.

Jeff Farmer’s son has nominated but it doesn’t say if he’s a father/son (eligible Melbourne or Fremantle) or if he’s academy (Fremantle) or just going freelance into the draft. Is there any way to find out? A list of f/son nominees?

Curious question.

How many would we say are legit nominations who are actually a chance of being picked up versus people taking the piss?
Of 1000 nominations, a couple of hundred would be a chance, the vast majority guys just living in hope, and a handful people doing it for a laugh.

They reckon only 50-60 picks are likely this year. There are 1017 players on the list. 695 are from the big leagues - AFL, VFL, WAFL, SANFL, NEAFL or NAB league.
So, vast majority won't be picked up. But, you have to be in it to win it.

Very occasionally they publish full lists, but for things like this, or rookie list movements, or cat b nominations, you generally have to trawl through 18 clubs worth announcements, often with these sorts of details incorrect or hidden amongst other news.

Kobe Farmer hasn't even played colts for Peel yet.

A better question is if he isn't nominated or selected this year, is he still eligible to be nominated & selected next year, or is it a one chance only thing?

You sure he hasn’t played? These were his stats. Apparently Kobe was training with Melbourne on Wednesday.

weird. I searched for Farmer, Kobe and Kobe Farmer at https://www.wafl.com.au/players and unless I've gone blind, he doesn't show up in the search. Just checked the Footy Budget, and he's listed.
I wonder when he has to nominate a club - that's still a thing, isn't it? Won't that be a kick in the guts if both Kobe and Maurice Jr pick other clubs.
😭😡
