????????????
IF SOMEONE had suggested that the Fighting Furies come last in the table after 9 wins and 9 loss in season 08/09, the majority of Fighting Furies fans would have asked for that person to be committed to the asylum.
At the beginning of pre-season, no one knew what the likely outcome for the club was. Would it be a premiership? A wooden spoon? Or stuck in no man land just missed out on a Final's Action?
The looming threat of administration, perhaps boardroom upheaval and the possibility of several key players retiring were all things spoken about by the supporters, with no official denial from the club.
Despite this, PHX has gone about uniting a team, and not just one made up of talented and fearless rookies and veterans, but a group that want to play for each other and - more importantly - for the Fighting Furies.
Great credit should be given to PHX for being one of the most talented coach and captain in the league.
SPECIAL praise should also be given to Tugga, a veteran in Fantasy Football who finished up as Furies leading goalkicker as well as a 2 time Premiership Player.
This team is now in its 8th year and is still bringing players - such as HBK and BILC - through the trade period and our ever successful recruitment drive.
If you are a tiger supporter who wants a better idea of who has pulled on the famous black and yellow guernsey and what they did, please go to this link, where there is a new recruitment drive to recruit Fresh Furies Cub. It seems that our recruitment program is the envy of a lot of SFA clubs - being the only club affiliated with an AFL club, a Richmond team for Richmond Supporters. If you would like a change of scenery and if you are a Tiger supporter, click on this link and express an interest to play for us.
By the time this is posted, The Furies would still be drinking and celebrating their 3rd Premiership, being the most successful club in the entire history of SFA with 3 premierships in 6 Finals appearance out of 8 years in operation. The Furies are the team to beat next season as they will be mounting their back-to back defence of their Premiership. I am sure that most of the Furies' faithful would like to see this, especially after the 6 years domination of the league.
Onwards and upwards then. The Furies are here to stay and here to win the next 5 Premierships.
