Thought i'd share this with my fellow BigFooty posters.

http://www.futuretimeline.net/

Start at 2012 and progress through the years, decades, centuries etc.

Obviously someones own predictions for what the future holds, but much of it seems plausible and well researched. Very interesting and also frightening in a way... If only half of this stuff eventuates we will lose many of the freedoms we take for granted today.

Thoughts?

Cheers for that. That Japanese physicist - who's name always escapes me - has an interesting book out which contains future predictions.

Ah, you've just sparked my interest, and now I'm compelled to find and then read the book.

I browsed it when i was in transit somewhere or other a few months back.

It's not in the extreme future speculation of the site above, but more what science/physics can offer now but what isn't in play, or in the next 50 years. But I'm going off jet-lagged memories here.

That stuff is so cool....

If I get to the age of 80 or so and I'm given the option of being cryogenically frozen and woken up in the future (doesn't really matter when), I would jump at the chance. To see the future, to see first hand both ends of such a wide span of progression, would be truly magnificent.

Thanks.

The man mission to Mars is probably the only thing that I feel to be a bit erm... far fetched.

I like the thinking that for most of us reading this, we're going to be around long enough to halt the aging process and hopefully long enough for immortality.

Sweeeet!

In all seriousness, I got lost in that site for an hour or so, it was a fantastic read.
