pretty rubbish, no way should he have got that, alright first quarter, terrible 2nd and 3rd, yet somehow was up to 70, then those 2 goals fair enough but no way 61 dt 112 sc, lots of clangers and didn't do much at all

If he did not drop that handball in the square he would be 130+ easily after he kicked the goal.

Big question now with a 114 final interim score for people that have him as VC!! What do ya do now?? It is no mans land that score and do you take it and run or roll the dice!

He would have deserved the 130 because he would have kicked 3 in a row to change the match.

But in the end his 2 goals were beaten by Hogans clunk, and Hogan was the match 'sealer' really.

Decent game, I expected 90 after the last 2 goals. It's just Ablett expectations making people think he is 'shot' and should have got 75...

Haters gonna hate. 150 next week after todays hit out

He's not breaking tackles or tackling himself, he's at least a month away from being any good probably more. Enjoy the 120 this week but he's about 60% at the moment. The not haves are winning after week 1 despite his boggling score IMO.

He played his worst game in five years and still got 119.. freak. Still happy I picked him at this stage.

yah hes my captain.
suppose it depends what jelwood and fyfe get.
but those that chose pendles will have similar capt scores so no big loss so far.
im guessing those will be the more popular non ablett captains

Should never have got that score. It's one of the things that really makes you question the scoring system. 3rd best on ground? My ass.

That being said, still happy that I haven't picked him. He's way under done and is clearly going to spend some time off the ball. He'll make my team eventually but it will be at a price of <$600k and that extra cash meant I could take Gray & Goldtein as well as another premium in my midfield starting structure.

He'll get to that price averaging 110-120 though, and once he's fit he'll go back to banging out 150s. The way I see it, a 110-120 average is still pretty darn good, and then you don't need to make two trades to bring him in later on. If you picked him, you didn't pick him to trade out so price is irrelevant

Those who didn't select him are winning/will win this one in my opinion. He scored that highly because he kicked 2 goals in a moment when Gold Coast were making a come back. Otherwise he wouldn't have even cracked 100.

Looked timid, didn't lay a tackle, carrying his arm running, seagulling around the contest rather than going in for the contested ball.

I'll hang onto him considering he's playing St Kilda next week, but I'm not confident he'll be able to even score consistent 100's in his current condition. It's hard to watch. I'm not sure how recovery from these shoulder injuries go, but I can't imagine it'll heal too quickly. And I also can't imagine that him playing week in week out is helping the recovery of it (but I highly doubt the GC medical team would allow him to play if it was doing further damage?)

I'd agree with that if Gold Coast had of won. Those two goals and his influence in the last would of been critical. But they didn't. Therefore it was pretty much junk time stats for him.

Whether you have him or don't, there's no point trading him either way now. But I'd say the biggest danger might be him playing fwd against saints and then getting subbed if they're way out in front.

He scored 21DT in the final quarter, and 49SC.

21DT = He kicked 2 goals on the run. 9 + 9 = 18. I'm assuming the remaining 3 points came from a general kick in play.

There are the facts. You can't tell me his score wasn't boosted by the goals, they clearly were. 50SC from 3 touches and 2 goals in a quarter isn't normal.

I'm more concerned with the way he scored in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs, watched him very closely and he was terrible yet went 13 dt/ 21 sc (2 clangers, 1 direct handball to garland who went into an open goal), 3rd qtr even worse, yet still went up 32 sc.... the mind boggles

so should I trade him.? He looks sore and will be subbed a bit I recon

Your talking Ablett here. His a freak and I am not sure how you could be in front by not having him. If you didn't have him as captain most would've gone Pendles who scored a little less. Captain choice wouldn't have made too much of a difference in scores this week whether you chose him or not. Not worth wasting trades on trading him out when youll want him back later in the year

I'm fairly sure he got 17 for each goal at the time so yeah would have been mid 80s but then someone said they were the only touches he got that qtr so he was scaled up another 15 somehow.

I don't understand how he scored more than Fyfe????
Fyfe wasn't that spectacular either and really only played half a good game and went totally missing in the last 15 minutes of the game when it was up for grabs.

People are complaining about Ablett's score when freakin Blicavs outscored Nicnat this round

I have him, going to trade him, he has had 9 months to get over his shoulder and its obviously not right, god knows if it will be this year, my only problem will be who to captain each week!!
