I like your thinking... How about getting Birchall in this week or is he a chance to get subbed off? I love Birchall best SC defender for the last 7-10 years

Probably wait and see on Birchall, Gibson may have done enough to hold that role and let Birchall hang back. Will be interesting to see how they go when playing together.

But he got 50 points from 2 goals didn't he!?!?

Out goes that theory.
No it doesn't. He was ~40DT, ~70SC at 3qt, which is what the stats that CD gave reflect. His 49SC from a last quarter in which he kicked 2 goals and had another kick isn't a theory, it's a fact.

So he got massive markups for 2 goals which put the Suns back in range but turned out not to be match changing. It would be interesting to know what points were gained by the players who goaled for Melbourne after that for their match-winning/sealing goals.

Whatever floats your boat :)

Picking petty negatives of Gazza looks a bit desperate anyway, just to justify you not picking him.

Just a thought.

120 was the pass mark for Gaz round 1. He got 119, thats a pass.

Regardless of how anyone feels about whether he should or shouldn't have scored that, fact is he did. If he can manage that in a loosing team playing underdone, then im impressed.

Most players struggle to get that score on their best days.

The question is will he be able to keep that form up, or even worse will he eventually be forced to sit on the sidelines.

That was him out of form so I've got no problem with him keeping 120 up. Problem is I can see Rocket using Ablett's injury to make a point throughout the year and resting him here and there. McKenna never had the balls to do such a thing.

Same can be said for any player, any given week.

If you have him at least give him this week

Trade to Rich & pocket 400k :thumbsu:
I didn't know you worked for McCain Foods Limited... or are you playing him this week :P

The Ablett situation is fairly simple. Those who had him for round one will be encouraged by the 120 and will keep him. Those who went without him will be put off by his physical restrictions that were evident in the game and won't bring him in. The next few games will show who was right.

22 possessions and a goal to three quarter time. Moves forward and kicks 3 goals in the last quarter. You heard it here first.

It's possible. At the other end of the scale he could continue to struggle with the injury, get only a handful of touches and be subbed off early. I suspect the truth will lie somewhere between those 2 extremes.

Hmm id wait and see. Hard to pick the defenders this year. Coming of an injury I'd wait. How about Brodie Smith?
Love Brodie Smith belongs in the Hawks backline with that right foot haha superstar! Crows have a great early draw
