He did it in the last five of every term, I think it was about settling the players as much as possile to control the flow of the game.

Ahh I only noticed in the 3rd and 4th quarters.. Also noticed the new "secret" signal to slow it down.. I think that is new.. it was great to see some tempo footy at last! Might be the reason we didn't completely lose it in red time and had enough (just!) legs to hold on. So perhaps Knights is listening... lets hope so.

Is anyone else concerned about Gumby's leading? Saw the mark etc.. and NOT bagging him.. he just seems to go in the opposite direction a lot.. is this deliberate or just timing issues?

We never win at Subi... never. :(
Rightttttt.

Listening to who? A guy like Knights is not going to be influence by what anyone in the media says. It is called trial and error. For all the positive press that defensive game plans and tempo games get they should still only ever be used when context demands it.

I have watched the Italian Soccer team loose the plot and forget to "play" the game and end up loosing far too many times to simply accept defence and tempo for the sake of it. Having said this, last night was necesary as a learning curve.

Gotta give a point to knights. Swung the axe to carry out his game style more effectively and responded to the deficiencies in the game plan with the new slow down play.

With a few minutes 'rest' slowing it down in each quarter we looked much more capable of staying tighter in defense in closing out the game. Still early days for that play but shows knighter does have the ability analyze, learn and respond (which a few were questioning including myself privately) and the team can make some good decisions and execute when they put their mind to it.

Some great performances from all over the ground too! Still a bit of work to be done and cant remember ever seeing so many balls out on the full from an opposition but great to get a win on the board :thumbsu:
